I'm sure there's a way to do this, but I'm missing it.
I have a document that is meant to be a card that 8.5" x 5.5", so it will be
printed on a half sheet of an 8.5 x 11 card on both sides. The final
document will have a landscape orientation for the final size. (Hope that
makes sense;
Change you custom size to a little larger size the the crops will show for
the original page size (8.5" x 5.5")

And remember to turn off the Generate Acrobat Data option
in the Print dialog, since that option suppresses registration
and crop marks.
