I'd like to hide all FrameMaker toolbars except for the Text Formatting
toolbar, which I'd like to customize.
I was able to get the Paragraph Style drop-down list by adding
DROPDOWN command=!RulerParaMenu/
to text_format.xml, but I'm having trouble adding the Character Style
drop-down list.

Maybe you just need to delete the cfws file of your workspace?

The !RulerCharMenu is a custom menu that Klaus has created. You have to use a
customui.cfg file in your Fminit/Config folder make these. Add this to the
customui.cfg file:
ReservedMenu !RulerCharMenu Label Character Formats
Add CharacterDefaultPgfFont Menu !RulerCharMenu
Add !ShowCharacterTags

What are you printing to? PS, PDF, Other??? I crashed on PDF generation
because I had an old Courier font. I forget exactly what the problem is (I'm
dumb about fonts), but it had to do with that. I pulled out all use of that
font,

I am creating a RoboHelp project out of a FrameMaker book. I can't find a way
to break the imported .fm files into separate .htm files at specified paragraph
styles, such as Heading 1 and Heading 2.
RH does this very nicely for Word files but I don't see it for .fm files.
Please tell

Best practice is to use a version control system such as Subversion.
Gives you the performance of local files, all the advantages of
network sharing, plus additional advantages.

File > Project Settings > Edit (conversion settings for FrameMaker
documents), select the paragraph style, check Pagination.
