Error when updating Side-head tag in flow WITH side-heads
There's no doubt something I'm missing here, but for the life of me I don't know what it might be. I have a document with one text flow (A) that has been defined with side-heads, and the side-heads are enabled. I have paragraph tags that are defined as Across all columns and side-heads. When I update one of these paragraph tags, I get a warning: You applied a side-head paragraph format to a paragraph in a flow that does not have room for side heads. For the main flow of the document, use the FormatPage Layout Column Layout command to turn on room for side heads. Using Clean Import to reimport the Master Pages with remove overrides enabled has not fixed the problem. Washing through MIF has also not worked. Ideas? Have you had a look at all your Master Pages? There might be one that you are not using but is assigned to text flow (A). Re: [Free Framers] Error when updating Side-head tag in flow WITH side-heads
Follow-up based on some off-list responses (thanks, guys). I obviously did not make clear that the Master Page is where I defined the side head, and it is indeed enabled. The document was created from a template containing this master page, so both its master and body pages have side heads. This is not affecting my text in any way (which is to say, it's doing what I want, which is starting the heading in the side-head area and the text in the text area), but the message is damned annoying since I'm reworking the template to take advantage of the many things I learned during my two recent webinars with Shlomo. Re: Error when updating Side-head tag in flow WITH side-heads
I get it whenever I update a paragraph format with the property Across all columns and side heads turned on. Both Master Pages have side-heads turned on. I am currently looking at a text inset file that has some odd things going on with the frames on the body page not matching the frames on the master, although both DO have side heads on. *sigh* -- Lin Sims On Fri, May 22, 2009 at 9:55 AM, Art Campbell art.campb...@gmail.com wrote: It isn't clear whether you get the message when you change one particular para format, or any one para format. So if you're using a layout that allows being globally set by the column layout parameters, just open the column layout and enable sideheads there. THEN the document knows what to do with corresponding paragraph formats. The body page layout does indeed have side heads enabled. The document was created from a template that was set up (both master body pages) with side heads defined and enabled. The flow names are correct. There doesn't appear to be any stray text or graphic frames on any of the document's master or body pages. It isn't clear whether you get the message when you change one particular para format, or any one para format.
