Another thing you can do if you need to collect all the imported graphics and/or text insets for a given document is use a plug-in called Archive. Archive will automatically collect all the imported graphics and text insets into a place that you specify. The link for this plug-in is: http://home.comcast.net/~bruce.foster/Archive.htm I have used it for years and all the other plug-ins that Bruce created. Hi, I have found myself in this very same spot, where someone built a book with graphics imported from all over the network. Naturally this makes the book impossible to archive and prone to error as graphics are remapped or lost. I have written a simple script in the FrameScript programming language that inventories all of the graphics imported into a manual, copies them into a directory of your choice (optionally organized within sub-folders based on the filename of the chapter where the graphic is used), and re-links all of the graphics without altering the size, resolution, position, or any other attributes of the actual images. If you have FrameScript installed on your computer, this is a ready-made solution to the problem. If you don't, this might be an alternative to get started, as many such time-saving scripts are available from developers such as myself. Feel free to email me if this is something you're interested in and I can send you the script file. Best regards, Martin R. Smith msmith at apexcovantage.com

Re: List of linked graphic file locations
We use the Archive plug-in as part of our version control process. We single-source as much as possible, using boilerplate files inserted into all the books, as well as text insets, shared appendices that leverage product- and purpose-driven conditional text, and shared graphics. It makes the archive process a SNAP and ensures that we get ALL of what is used in the current version and ONLY what is used in the current version, a process which previously took about a day on the 150-pg docs. Frame 7.1, Win XP Just before a recent deadline, I had to cobble together a bunch of content from disparate locations. I'm going to need to archive my source files soon and it occurs to me that locating all of the graphics is going to be tricky. I'd like to generate a list of all the linked graphics, move all of the stragglers into sub-directories and then redo the links. There are about 40 files in the book. I guess I could generate MIF files and look through for .graphics files, but that seems tedious. Is this my only option or can I generate a list that shows the various file locations directly from the book? Thanks in advance. J. Paul Kent 206-383-0539 206-508-1144
