Tables not accepting "Ruling" settings
Or, if you have a "bunch of tables", you may want to use the TableCleaner plug-in to do this "in batch" for all tables of a specific table format (typically for tables tagged "Table" which come from Word and Excel). Works like a charm. Most likely those tables do have overrides, set using Table > Custom Ruling and Shading. Try: . Selecting an entire problem table . Select Table > Custom Ruling and Shading' . Uncheck 'Custom Cell Shading' . Select 'From Table' under 'Apply Ruling Style' . Check all the 'To selection' and 'Inside Borders' checkboxes . Click on 'Apply'. If that fails to fix the table, I've not idea. 'From Table' here means 'From the specifications in the Table Designer. -- Steve

If that is the case, you need to open the Custom Ruling and Shading dialog from within the table, select "From Table" in the Apply Ruling Style list, and hit Apply. This should reapply the true table format on the table. HTH, Niels

Hi Karyn, The table has custom ruling and shading overrides, which always take precedent over the settings in the Table Designer. Select the table and choose Table > Custom Ruling and Shading. Change all of the settings to From Table and click Apply. This should take care of the problem.
