for the series. I haven't seen it in quite awhile, but I do recall there
are several false endings, with credits appearing midway through the film
and possibly elsewhere, as well as films within the film, and much, much

Last Friday, I showed Paul Sharits' Shutter Interface here in Atlanta.
There is (as Sharits said of all his "locational" works) no "development"
in this piece; it's contemplative/meditative and consists of the patterns
of single-color frames and sonic tones all the way through. It simply ends
after
Michael Snow's *So Is This* is a film essay of words projected one after
the other on the screen which is read (silently it is assumed) by an
audience. It concludes mysteriously mid-sentence in a magical way that
leaves one hanging. I'll leave it at that and not give away the film's
final thought.

Just letting you know about the Visions monthly screening series in Montreal.
We present films that fall into the 'experimental-documentary' spectrum.
The series began in March and we've presented:
Anja Dornieden and Juan David Gonzalez Monroy - various works
James N. Kienitz Wilkins
Even today mainstream media shows mostly ignorance and disrespect towards
all non normative forms of film making.
At least in 1964 they were bothered enough to attack experimental cinema,
today they do not even care enough to do that.

Do you consider Sweetgrass and Leviathan experimental? It would be hard to
say the are "not" experimental, but I wonder if because there is not an
explicit identification of them as being experimental that allows them to
pass through the mainstream without anyone getting too mad about it.

not well organized, but very impressive.
