One complaint about the Gottlieb piece, though. It's just plain wrong on Charles Burnett: he was not a one man African-American New Wave, and his film Killer of Sheep didn't fall off the map after being screened at the Whitney. Yeah,yeah- you must be used to this brand of mainstream

I hadn't anticipated that this little post I thought would interest some folks on this list would result in a credentials check. Well, no disrespect to Gottlieb, assuming he's the mid-20s grad student in English at the University of Michigan that Google produces. (Sorry, I don't do Facebook.)
