yeah, this is a legacy header problems the newer X.h c++ files get
installed in /usr/include/g++/legacy IIRC.

rm -rf /usr/include/g++
cd /usr/src
make includes

worked for me. YMMV

The trick here is that a new loader isn't installed yet. the old kernel
lives in /kernel and the new one in /boot/kernel/kernel you have to be
sure and boot the new one. make -k installworld accomplishes the same
thing (By installing a new loader)

What's going on as far as adding utf-8 based locales?
How can I help?

From UPDATING:

To upgrade from 4.x-stable to current
-
make buildworld
make buildkernel KERNCONF=YOUR_KERNEL_HERE
cp src/sys/${MACHINE_ARCH}/conf/GENERIC.hints /boot/device.hints [2]
make installkernel KERNCONF=YOUR_KERNEL_HERE
reboot in single user [3]
make installworld
mergemaster [4]
[1]

Did you do this? IIRC, Sig 12 is unimplemented syscall, which would occur
when userland and the kernel are out of sync.

Perhaps something else is causing the clock to run twice as fast?
Maybe two things that are working properly are both incrementing
the clock?

I looked, apparently it doesn't like u_int. I don't know why.

1 kernel compile later, I get different output as far as the apci
timers are concerned, notably that one of the timers is marked good
this time. Here are the added options:

options HZ=333

options CLK_USE_I8254_CALIBRATION
options CLK_USE_TSC_CALIBRATION

options INVARIANTS #Enable calls of extra sanity checking
options INVARIANT_SUPPORT #Extra sanity checks of internal structures,
required by INVARIANTS
options WITNESS #Enable mutex checks to detects deadlocks and
cycles

And this is the updated dmesg from boot -v

Superfast clock on current.

2002-03-26 Thread Kyle Butt

My system clock is running twice as fast as it should be,
but it doesn't affect timing functions. Ex:

bash-2.04$ date ; sleep 5 ; date
Tue Mar 26 01:48:45 MST 2002
Tue Mar 26 01:48:55 MST 2002
bash-2.04$

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm running X4.2.0 but
not from the ports. (I upgraded and X didn't work with opieaccess,
but this was before the port for 420 was moved over) It's been
going on for approximately a month now.

Here's my dmesg, and kernel config file, if they help.

This changes after the installworld target. From UPDATING:

To upgrade from 4.x-stable to current
-

make buildworld
make buildkernel KERNCONF=YOUR_KERNEL_HERE
cp src/sys/${MACHINE_ARCH}/conf/GENERIC.hints /boot/device.hints [2]
make installkernel KERNCONF=YOUR_KERNEL_HERE
reboot in single user [3]
make installworld
mergemaster [4]
[1]

I updated my machine from 4.5-stable to 5.0-current without a hang up,
but I did notice that after I installed the kernel it didn't boot it.
But after the installworld it did.
