If your client is using Appleworks, it's a bit more difficult.
I had a hacked up version of an Appleworks file format reader taken from OS X
(server) 1.1 --or maybe the earlier version, circa 1999. If yu need it let

I use an NFS/NIS combination in my homenetwork where 3 laptops all
wirelessly login to my NIS/NFS server. I remember it took some time to
get it to work right, but it works just fine.
I'm clueless as to what is wrong in the lab at work.

I just downloaded the linux binary from openoffice.org, gunzipped it,
uintarred it, and ran setup. It was literally that easy.
It does need X running at the time of the setup/install.

Sometimes the best solution for getting the /tmp/ files ownership correct
is to rm /tmp/* then rm /tmp/.* and rebooting. Just make sure there isn't
