I've been trying to update an old server from 5.4-RELEASE-p2 to 7.2-RELEASE.
So, I figured the best way would be to do this in steps. 5.4 to 6.0 then

Here's what I would try. Upgrade to RELENG_4 via the cvsup/buildworld

re-synchronize your source (CVSup, CVS, CTM, whatever) and

Network wasn't available at boot, so ntpdate couldn't sync, so the
clock was off, so the build system tried to build libmagic two times.
I'm so stupid.
This was exactly like when I was setting up some x509 certificates for
isakmpd a while ago, with the clock set way into the fu

A make buildworld fails to compile FreeBSD 5.2.1-p9 with the warning
dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing and -Werror
is set. The first library it fails on is libpam compiled staticly.
Even if I set -DNO_WERROR to get past libpam, a later part will fail

after several attempts (cvsup, make buildworld,
even fresh install from CD), I get _consistent_ failures.
The same source-tree compiles without problems on a

- Intel Pent.4 / Asus
