Hi!
How can I the easiest way update/upgrade OpenSSL & OpenSSH on a FreeBSD 4.9
machine?
I saw on the net that they where part of the "base system" and therefore I
can't
use portupgrade or "make deinstall/make reinstall"
I thought they where updated when running 'make world'?
Now I am using:

Maybe there will be a need for an upgrade in the future.
As I wrote in the beginning, thanks a lot for an outstanding reply.

Hi!
I am trying to ´make install clean´ MySQL 4.1.5 from ports.
It does not seem to build correctly on FreeBSD 4.10.
I also had these problems with MySQL 4.1.4, wich is
reported as a bug (http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=ports/71352)
Is it possible that MySQL 4.1.5 still suffering from
Hi!
I have a lot of login attempts from various networks and IP addresses
on my FBSD 4.10 server. I have read the man pages for hosts.deny but
do not understand how to add networks and IP addresses to it.
Let's say I want to block the network address 192.168.100.0 and/or
the IP address 192.168.1
ipfw add 100 deny all from 192.168.100.0/24 to me in

Hi!
Want to get Qpopper to work with SSL on a FreeBSD 4.9.
I have followed the instruction at various sites about how this
should be done including eudora.com/qpopper. I have also followed
alot of instructions on how to make a cert-file (cert.pem) from
a .key and .crt file. That includes openss
Hi again!
I do not know if this is a FreeBSD issue but I need to ask to know.
I have installed ProFTPd 1.2.9 from ports with

'make WITH_OPENSSL=yes install clean'

Everyting went just fine, no errors or anything.
The server is starting up ok and seems to be running fine.

Hi List!
I have read that MySQL and FreeBSD 4.x is a bad thing due to FreeBSD's
bad(?) threading.
I have also read that I can enable "linux-threads" when compiling.
Does these LinuxThreads solve "all" MySQL<>FreeBSD<>Threading issues?
Thanks

Does this mean I need to:
1. Apply the patch
2. Recompile
It should be 'make buildworld' below, not 'recompile the kernel?' :-/
