Recently, I upgraded from FreeBSD 4.8 to FreeBSD 6.0. And, I upgraded mpd
from version 3.17 to 3.18.
After the upgrade, several sites began experiencing problems maintaining
their connections (especially under high traffic loads). When I put the

The problem is that all traffic between LAN users is going via pppoed NIC.
I do not want that, i want that LAN users to have traffic direct, like
using fixed IPs

So I tried mpd to implement PPTP. In theory, with native OS X support
and proxy-arp replacing OSPF (no dynamic routing needed if I think I'm
local) this looked like the ticket. I ran into what appears to be the
same issue
I got mpd working with little pain, on FB 5.3. all xp clients
are able to connect and browse the network resources,
but no real tcp-ip action is happening inside the VPN.
I can't ping anything or connect to any ports on other machines,
therefore can't use network based applications on machines
I am in the process of adding dial-up capabilities to the FreeBSD
servers I maintain so in the event of a problem, if the server starts, I
can at least dial in and see what is wrong and hopefully correct the
problem.

I have a problem with mpd on a server.
It seems that the vpnclient cannot accept icmp connections from other
than the mpd-server.
* I can ping from 192.168.0.1 (The server) to 192.168.0.201 (The client)
