I am in the process of building a new system and was looking at using
the new Seagate Barracuda Serial ATA drives.
Does FreeBSD 4.x, or 5.x support SATA yet?

If FreeBSD can detect the SATA controller, then I imagine it would
support it just fine, since the same command set is used on the software
side.
Currently the only (known) support
to the drive and mounted it on the system.
However when I perform an rsync backup from a FreeBSD 7.1 PRERELEASE
system to the drive over an NFS connection the drive disconnects and the
server reboots.
Does anyone have an idea where to go from here?

it boots off the DVD and I start the standard install process. The
IDE HD and CD drives aren't seen.
Any suggestions?

I even defined a new freebsd userid and started x without any window manager
andit still
crashes machine.
Any ideas?

Any ideas on what the problem is?

Can someone assist me in rebuilding the database?
