[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #15747] bizarre compile error in gtk2 popup_pillage_dialog

2010-03-29 Thread Jason Dorje Short

Follow-up Comment #1, bug #15747 (project freeciv):

As far as I can tell the message is in error. Replacing either one of the
"what - S_LAST - 1" formulas with just "what" fixes it. But replacing both
breaks it again. This is either the cause of a compiler bug (unlikely) or a
hidden bug somewhere else in this function that's triggering it.

As a workaround, this patch also seems to stop the warning.

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #15740] unuseable sdl client

2010-03-29 Thread Matthias Pfafferodt

Follow-up Comment #1, bug #15740 (project freeciv):

I did some additional tests and found the reason: I use X forwarding via ssh
to connect to my homeserver where freeciv is compiled. Starting the sdl
client directly on the server is working but it is not useable via the
network connection (ssh -X). This means I can check it from time to time but
development will not be possible.

Another question: how to change the size of the sdl window?

2010-03-29 Thread Matthias Pfafferodt

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #15740 (project freeciv):

this bug is identical for S2_2

S2_1 is working a little; I can switch the first three menu points in the
first dialog (also join game!) and with the help of 'start' typed directly on
the server prompt the game starts. Some mouse clicks are working but I can't
close the city dialog with the cross on the top right corner. using a unit
and 'activate unit; close dialog' is working

There is a way in the local options. However, in trunk branch, the option is
still incomplete (only integers instead of real screen modes).

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #15728] Inaccuracy in pathfinding from TM_WORST_TIME

2010-03-29 Thread Jacob Nevins

Follow-up Comment #5, bug #15728 (project freeciv):

Couple more cosmetic comments: there are remaining references to
TM_WORST_TIME in the header comments for pf_danger_map_iterate() and
pf_fuel_map_iterate() (point 4), and to "turn mode" in the header for
pf_normal_map_adjust_cost().

Otherwise this looks like a good patch to make TM_BEST_TIME the mandatory
mode of operation. I don't think this affects client-side goto and haven't
checked in detail what it does to the AI; I guess we'll find out :)

Can we neglect occupychance? I don't think it matters for client-side goto,
but does the AI ever rely on path-finding to determine where it ends up after
an attack? I haven't tried to work this out.

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #15741] SDL client crashes in build dialog

2010-03-29 Thread Jason Dorje Short

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #15741 (project freeciv):

Unfortunately I can't reproduce it. All I can say is that I was clicking
around a lot in the change-production dialog when it happened. I don't
believe any relevant code changes have happened since then (which was a few
moments before I reported it).

[Freeciv-Dev] [patch #1330] update city dialog (gtk-2.0)

2010-03-29 Thread David Lowe

Follow-up Comment #17, patch #1330 (project freeciv):

I haven't gotten trunk yet, but let me ask: does the new dialog make it
easier to see trade routes? In 2.2.0 this can only be viewed by clicking on
the trade number, which i don't find very intuitive. Perhaps this
information could go in a tab of it's own?

[Freeciv-Dev] [patch #1263] possibility to lose a tech if it is transfered

Update of patch #1263 (project freeciv):

Summary: possibility to loose a tech if it is transfered =>
possibility to lose a tech if it is transfered

___

Follow-up Comment #3:

This spelling error is very common everywhere but it still bothers me:

"Chance to loose an invention while receiving it"

Chance to *lose*

To lose -- to no longer have something, verlieren
To loosen -- to make something less bound, lockern
