Follow-up Comment #2, patch #4842 (project freeciv):

I guess it is better to keep all settings, in order to keep it similar to rest
of scenarios.

New patch where I only changed the settings related to the starting positions:
num of players 30, max players 38, and one initial settler (the way I tested
the AI expansion with both classic and civ2civ3 rules).

I also fixed the name of the patch...

Details:

Failure is due to missing -lintl option. All our other programs get it
indirectly by linking against some library that in turn is linked against
libintl.
While S2_4 has no freeciv-mp-cli, the base problem of missing -lintl linkage
for freeciv programs is there too.

Details:

Running gprof on an autogame, is_native_to_class() had 6581365554 calls
take 73.47 seconds, but the wrapper function is_native_terrain only managed 52
calls in 7.03 seconds.  The attached patch drops is_native_terrain(), and uses
is_native_to_class() instead in the two places in the codebase that previously
used is_native_terrain().  While saving 7 seconds off the run of an autogame
isn't that much, having fewer functions also makes the code less confusing and
the symbol tables smaller.

Follow-up Comment #4, bug #22245 (project freeciv):

A bit hackish fix - assume that it's such an just started cease-fire if
current turn is first_contact_turn. I think cleaner solution would include
additional field to diplstate, and that's far too much memory in games with a
lot of players (player count ^ 2 fields) to fix something that is now happened
once in a huge number of autogames.

As S2_5 now has gtk2 as the default, also sdl-client should be combined with
freeciv-mp-gtk2.exe and not freeciv-mp-gtk3.exe - especially as the latter has
stability problems.

Untested fix to make freeciv-mp-gtk2.exe the default fcmp in installer build
attached.

Uh, that freeciv-web patch makes 1 to be returned as trait value for such
broken players. That's certainly going to make such player, if ever under AI
control, to behave strangely. Returning TRAIT_DEFAULT_VALUE (50) would make
much more sense.
