[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #18210] Windows network error reporting buggy

2011-06-17 Thread Marko Lindqvist

Update of bug #18210 (project freeciv):

 Planned Release: 2.2.6, 2.3.0, 2.4.0 = 2.3.1, 2.4.0

___

Follow-up Comment #2:

This is not an regression. Many major releases have lived with it without
anybody complaining. We have much more urgent things to fix.

Follow-up Comment #5, bug #16108 (project freeciv):

Before adding new mappings, should consider what this means in conjunction
with still unfixed bug #18210. Does adding mapping really improve anything, or
does it only make things worse?

 do with bug #18209 (unrelated?).

Yes, bug #18209 was originally opened as a result of me reproducing this one.

[Freeciv-Dev] Upcoming releases

2011-06-17 Thread Daniel Markstedt
Hi,

We're planning two Freeciv releases in the beginning of the next month.

First one is a stable bugfix release, 2.2.6, targeted for July 3rd.

Second one will be from the 2.3 branch. We haven't entirely made up
our minds whether the code is stable enough for a Release Candidate,
or whether we need another beta: 2.3.0-beta5. In any case, we aim to
get it out on July 17th.

Thanks,

Daniel

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #18227] Qt-client configure check test program compilation fails

2011-06-17 Thread David Lowe

Follow-up Comment #9, bug #18227 (project freeciv):

Are you sure you had no other patches already applied that may conflict with
this one? Actually, even though I'm developing patches for bug #18200 and this
at the same time, I have not checked if these patches can be applied
simultaneously...

It's 'stock', other than the framework patches. However, you raise a good
point in that i haven't done anything in between the patches other than 'svn
up'. I will revert qt-client.m4 and try again after i get some sleep.

If unit stands on some allowed terrain (e.g. plains) and the
next turn it's modified into unallowed (e.g. forest) the server
dies with the message similar to this:

Hoewever, your reproducible case was not about terrain change but about
pillage of roads under RoadNative unit. Fix to that attached. But is there
also bug like you report above related to terain type change?

[Freeciv-Dev] [patch #2724] gtk3 freeciv-modpack

2011-06-17 Thread Marko Lindqvist

URL:
  http://gna.org/patch/?2724

 Summary: gtk3 freeciv-modpack
 Project: Freeciv
Submitted by: cazfi
Submitted on: Fri 17 Jun 2011 11:33:48 PM EEST
Category: module installer
Priority: 5 - Normal
  Status: Ready For Test
 Privacy: Public
 Assigned to: None
Originator Email:
 Open/Closed: Open
 Discussion Lock: Any
 Planned Release: 2.4.0

___

Details:

With attached patch freeciv-modpack can be built as gtk3-program. This is
based on configure checks without any user options (we probably want to add
some later, even though freeciv-modpack is just non-critical helper utility).
If suitable gtk3 development fils are found, freeciv-modpack is built as
gtk3-program. Failing that, it's built as gtk2-program if gtk2 development
files are found. Failing also that, it's not built at all.

We are lucky in that current freeciv-modpack sources are completely
compatible with both gtk2 and gtk3. We just have to set include paths to use
correct versions of gtk headers and to link against correct libraries.

I have tested this now only in a system where both gtk2 and gtk3 development
files are present, and it correctly produced binary linked against gtk3
libraries.

[Freeciv-Dev] [patch #2725] Warning about --enable-client=gtk to S2_3

2011-06-17 Thread Marko Lindqvist

 Planned Release: 2.3.0

___

Details:

This patch adds warning about forward portability of --enable-client=gtk to
S2_3. There's slight chance that someone sees that already in 2.3-series,
adjusts their build system accordingly, and avoids getting bitten when
behavior of --enable-client=gtk changes at some point.

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #18217] GCC 4.6: variable 'xxx' set but not used

2011-06-17 Thread Marko Lindqvist

Update of bug #18217 (project freeciv):

  Status: In Progress = None
 Assigned to: cazfi = None

___

Follow-up Comment #5:

In trunk these should be really fixed. But at least I myself cannot dig in to
this just yet. Meanwhile they are bad thing in that one doesn't notice if
there is any other errors in the middle of these. Unconditionally turning them
off like done in stable branches is not an option - then nobody would see them
- nobody would ever fix them. So, as a temporary solution, I propose attached
patch that adds configure option --disable-acceptable-warns to disable
them.

I plan to commit this patch myself, but I already reassign this ticket to
None to indicate that I'm not working on real fix at the moment. Any fixes,
even partial (fixing only some of the warnings) very much welcome.

Basically, most of the game window isn't drawn correctly - though i.e.

As noted in the bug, GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=1 is a workaround, still a real fix
would be nice.
