Update of bug #13630 (project freeciv): Category:None = general Priority: 1 - Later = 5 - Normal Status: Postponed = In Progress ___ Follow-up Comment #2: I seem to be changing my mind back and forth about this patch. This only makes explicit move_type definition optional, not remove possibility to give it completely. So ruleset author still has complete control if (s)he so wish. My original reason for writing this patch is still very much valid so patch should go forward: it discourages anybody (coders implementing freeciv engine features, ruleset authors) from depending on move_type. We've worked hard in generalizing move_type properties, and I don't want us to take any steps backwards. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?13630 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

It's not so much about freeciv packager, but about Debian's general policy. They will not incorporate new upstream releases, not even purely bugfix ones, to their released versions. Since they had freeciv version 2.2.1 at the time when squeeze entered freeze (many months before release), 2.2.1 will be squeeze's freeciv version when it's retired. New freeciv releases usually make it relatively quickly to debian development version repos (latest is 2.2.7-2 at the moment) - ML ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev
