[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #19009] gtk3-client does not show what city is building
Follow-up Comment #6, bug #19009 (project freeciv): But as for primary issue of this bug For maintainability we have to have exactly one issue / ticket. You cannot expect us to reread all comments of all tickets over and over again - we have to be able to depend on ticket status - and single boolean open/closed cannot hold information about multiple parts of same ticket being in different states. I've opened patch #3095 about gtk3-client theme. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?19009 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Follow-up Comment #4, bug #19009 (project freeciv): Seems I'm on a roll today. I'm still working on the theming - as I mentioned in a different bug, made a bit progress there (more on it perhaps awhile later). But as for primary issue of this bug, this patch seems to fix it - it wasn't a matter of theming, just a minor, not advertised, change in progressbar handling in gtk3. PS.: give it a couple more months and I may even decide to create an account on gna. Follow-up Comment #5, bug #19009 (project freeciv): For the time being, I'm attaching updated version of gtk.css - as before, some parts of it work, some - don't. I'm not sure if I'm using correct values, but: - background of title window and city dialog get modified - ComboBoxes and GtkEntries backgrounds get modified (but the border of GtkComboBoxText seems incorrect) - tooltips get modified - TreeView headers get modified, but not quite correctly (again, borders) - checkbox gets modified - scrollbars aren't done yet and their buttons have incorrect borders As for scrollbars, one thing I really dislike about the original (gtk2) theme is the focus color on scrollbars: I'm almost indifferent about colors, but the shade of blue the original theme uses clashes *horribly* with the rest of the theme. Update of bug #19009 (project freeciv): Planned Release: = 2.4.0,2.5.0 ___ Follow-up Comment #3: Since the Gtk3 client is selectable by configure on S2_4, I assume we want to try to fix this. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?19009 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Follow-up Comment #1, bug #19009 (project freeciv): I suspect it has something to do with theming - I've been toying with gtk3 brand of theming and while I did get decent results on some of the widgets, for some reason I couldn't get i.e. entries and buttons working. On a semi-related note: I should really seriously think about creating an account here, if I keep commenting on stuff. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?19009 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #19009 (project freeciv): I think I won't have much time for this topic, but I'm attaching what I've already done. This is under the assumption, that old theme is still installed for gtk-3.0 client (that is, with r20580 reverted). gtk.css goes into the same place gtkrc is. As I mentioned, only parts of it work - mostly bg.png related part. I didn't work on scrollbars yet (I'd like to remind you about bug #18607 again) and while I've tried to make buttons/entries work, I couldn't make it for the moment.
