I have an old computer and I installed FreeDOS on it. The computer has a
486dx processor, 16M ram, and an 520M hdd.
The installation was on my another computer, and on it FreeDOS booted and
worked well.
I installed just the base, but without base's packages. So i have 3 files in
C:\, a

Finally, I reinstalled FreeDOS, and now it works fine.
First, I installed Smart Boot Manager on a floppy, and than I put a floppy
drive to this old computer. And I put my dvd reader drive to this too. Than
I was able to boot FreeDOS CD, that was burned to a cd-rw.

Just for the record I'd like to add, that I installed
FreeDOS 1.0 recently on a quite similar machine,
a Compaq Contura Aero 486SXJ 33 Laptop with 20 MB RAM,
no CD/DVD and only an external PCMCIA floppy drive.
Though there is no CD
