I have had an arachne running problem changing the soundcard.
I have a 3COM NIC , the connection to the router and everything
was running but arachne blocked, i have changed settings and many other
things .
The only thing to do, was to change the IRQJumper-Setting of the soundcard
for an other IR

Hi, some educated guess: when you used winxp, it got a new ip number from your
router or
dsl modem or whatever you use. now the modem is no longer happy with the
settings you
selected in arachne. a workaro
I have a nice 386 notebook - yes, I know, it is ancient, but it is still in perfect running order. Has anyone seen any answering machine software for DOS/freedos, etc?I have googled for hours :(

Yesterday Arachne was working fine. After that the only thing I did was defragging (Defrag
v1.21) drive C and shutting off the computer. Arachne is on drive D which is visible in
WinXP ad was defragged from there. After starting FreeDos a few hours later I'm back to
square one: tcp/ip looks
