[Freedos-user] fdDoc en castellano

2008-11-25 Thread naldo romero
quisiera comentar que la version traducida de la pagina web de documentacion de
freedos (http://fd-doc.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?n=FdDocEs.HomePage)
a libertad, no a
precio.. Ayer modifique esas palabras y hoy veo que todo quedo igual que
antes.
¿ Puedo corregir la pagina o tengo que pedir el permiso a alguien ?
Gracias por todo!

I'm translating this message for everyone:

I want to comment you that the spanish translated web page
(http://fd-doc.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?n=FdDocEs.HomePage) has
some translating errors. For example in the legal section says
software gratuito instead software libre. In the textual paragraf
Cuando hablamos de software gratuito, nos referimos a libertad, no a
precio. must to say Cuando hablamos de software libre, nos
referimos a libertad, no a precio.. Yesterday I modified those words
and today I see today that the word go back to the original.

Can I to correct the page or I must to ask someone for permission to do it

Translating note: In spanish we have clear different words gratis
or gratuito mean free as a free beer. Libre mean free as on
freedom. So the comment ask to use the right term.

[Freedos-user] freedos/98 dual boot.

2008-11-25 Thread kurt godel
Jim,
I eventually got back to you, that I had *satisfactorily* done it, with 98
in 'c', freedos in 'd'; the trick for me was
to master 'devload' and shsucdx. The only bugaboo left is that DOSUSB still
cannot coexist with cd rom when
fdos is in 'd', yet they do work together if fdos is in 'c'; this I can't
figure. In fact, I asked the designer of
DOSUSB about this, and he could not figure it out, except to sat that dos
assigns the drive letter to DOSUSB.
it's not fatal, since I found a real stable usb flash driver (not duse, etc.)
for the w98, I just like redundancy!

I thought you'd done it, but must have not deleted the earlier thread
about it. Since I'm catching up on about 2 months' worth of email, I'm
pretty much replying to anything that looks unresolved. :-)

Glad you got it working!

Yes, it's ok for Naldo to make this edit. The FreeDOS distribution is
intended to be 'libre' (free for everyone). Of course, we distribute
it on our web site as 'gratis' (free, as in zero cost) but you may
also purchase copies of FreeDOS from certain online sites such as
Linux CD Mall.

I think Eric has been having occasional problems with spam on the
wiki, so he probably had to restore the wiki to a previous copy to
remove spam.

[Freedos-user] clarify dualboot.

2008-11-25 Thread kurt godel
Eric,
I should clarify: when Georg (of DOSUSB) said dos assigns the drive letter
to dosusb, he was emphasising
that *dos does the assigning* , that is, there is not much,if any, manual
control over it. Also, to be specific,
when DOSUSB works with the cdrom (in drive 'c')the whole thing is automatic;
that is, the DOSUSB drive
is assigned to 'd', and the cdrom gets bumped to 'e'. Finally, the neato
flash driver was designed for w98, and
it works better than the more common ones that have been mentioned; maybe it
can be made to work in dos.
If you are that interested, I will have to search for it's url(it's around
here somewhere). kurt, [EMAIL PROTECTED].
