People hack services, not the operating system per-se. And in the case of FreeDOS, there are no services listening on the network. Sure, you can use FreeDOS to play multiplayer games (DOOM, etc.) on a network, and you can use FreeDOS and mTCP to make connections via telnet or whatever. Or FreeDOS
