What exactly are the advantages of JEMM386? Is there a noticeable difference
over FD-EMM386
if I am only using EMS for ramdisks/drivers? Are the bugs dependent on hardware?

FD-EMM386 is very outdated, yes. But when it was still maintained,
updates were often tested by a number of users. With JEMM, it is
more like "here is an update, enjoy".
