I just noticed that I had been incorrectly setting the NIS domain name
since upgrading to Fedora 20 and FreeIPA 3.3.4, yet I appear to be
successfully retrieving and using sudo rules from FreeIPA. Is sudo
still using NIS-style netgroups? Is there still a requirement to set
the NIS domain name?

I have a small FreeIPA 3.1 installation on Fedora 18. I thought it might
be useful to try to upgrade it to FreeIPA 3.2 on Fedora 19 before I
tried to rebuild it from scratch, as I imagined larger installations

for FreeIPA users. But on those occasions when I need to login as the
local administrator I can not get a home directory:

After building a new VM and configuring the IPA 3.3.2 client, Gnome
seems to only perform a local log-in until the system is rebooted. SSH
works with IPA, but not Gnome. Is this correct? Is there anything less
disruptive than a reboot that I can do?
