Hi,
# /usr/local/sbin/ipmi-sel
ipmi-sel: unable to get SEL record
it certainly isn't normal. Is there a chance you could run with a newer
version of FreeIPMI? I've put in a lot more detailed error messages and
debugging functions in newer FreeIPMIs.
In freeipmi-0.4.3, ipmi-sel is

Hi Sharad,
I have worked on several supermicro motherboards before, and my
recollection is that none have supported memory sensors. A few (but not
all) support some processor or module-board sensors. It's possible
you're out of luck for those sensors on your motherboard.
I'm not sure where to
Hmm.. it looks like your sensor data repository (SDR) itself
has only few entries. It is possible that your IPMI BMC only
supports basic sensors, or you will need a SDR firmware update.
