Re: [Freetel-codec2] "freebeacon" and the need for assigned frequencies

Hi Al, Perhaps known installations of freebeacon could be listed on the main FreeDV website, much like the nets already are? That way, they can be on frequencies different than the "standard" FreeDV ones to avoid interference. This would also avoid the need to have it log into the QSO Finder and

Hi, All SSB-capable SDR designs as HPSDR (ANAN), FlexRadio, ADALM Pluto (AD), LimeSDR, SunSDR etc. can use FreeDV without any addional hardware and cost. I know many operators who gave freedDV a try, but the enthusiasm tended to zero. Why? At least on crowded HF bands and due to propagation

Alan, Please refresh our memory as to how one goes about setting up a  FreeBeacon.  Seems that I looked into it early on but passed as it was beyond my abilities at the time. Thanks. Best regards, Gary, K7EK ⁣Get BlueMail for Android On Feb 21, 2022, 00:17, at 00:17, Al Beard wrote: >Hi

Sounds good Mooneer, >* SM1000 replacement (faster hardware to support other FreeDV modes, > Wi-Fi support for radios such as the IC-705, etc.) Suggest the key requirement here is "ease of use", i.e. how to make FreeDV as easy to use as SSB. An outboard box being one solution. Given the world

[Freetel-codec2] "freebeacon" and the need for assigned frequencies

2022-02-20 Thread Al Beard
Hi guys, One "problem" for Digital Voice transmissions over HF where the bands are not channelised is knowing what frequency a "freebeacon" is listening too. Once found, very unlikely, then what mode. The site "qso.freedv.org" has a list but it does not have frequencies for such as "freebeacon".

I would suggest talking to the one/few of the open software foundations. I'm fairly sure that Linux Australia would have a way of handling this cleanly. Mike On 21/2/22 8:37 am, Mooneer Salem wrote: Hi all, Over the past year or so, there have been several occasions where it would have

Hi all, Over the past year or so, there have been several occasions where it would have been beneficial to have had an official organization steering FreeDV and Codec2 development. For instance, the ARDC does not currently offer grants to individuals , not
