Is there any way to do it so that you don't actually have to select or type,
eg. Landscape or Portrait on the user end? That it will automatically know

Did you use the crop feature in Adobe? I find whenever I do this, that it
still recognizes the old page size. The only way I ended up getting around
this was to import into another program, and crop to the correct size, then
export as PDF again. If you find another way, let me know.

Did you make the selection of the field that you want the size to affect?
It's in the pop up when you tell it what pt size you want it to be.
And it's confusing for the user when there is no drop-down selection for
point size, typing it in is kind of weird, I agree.

versioned? If It's variable, you can try composing as a VDX, which are much
