using fvwm with KDE (nice combination !), makes me think
you master the combination. I proceed in a quite clumsy way: first
logon KDE, then open a new session under fvwm, and every time I want
to suspend go back to kde first.
Do you run fvwm as the kde WM, as suggested in
http://fvwm.org/documentation
qingy. You just Ctrl+Alt+F* to switch vt, and
start another session with X. And then you can Ctrl+Alt+F* to switch
between them. Btw, this is not suposed to be the task of fvwm.
- suspending computer (kde: kmenu--logout--suspend computer)
Once again, qingy can do this. Logout fvwm
session, and switching betweeen them

Yet a part of my question stays unanswered: how does the kde-fvwm
merge work, and does it bring something to the fvwm user?
Well, not merge, integration or whatever the term, to get the best of
both realms, without switching context.
