Hello Power Mac people!
Once again I'm happy to share what I enjoyed playing with. It is not much, but
then: I'm not a software developer, so for my limited skills this is quite
okay I think!
On request of Valter Prahlad I made a Mac OS X 10.4 version of the modified

Hey All,
I would like to burn something with Toast onto a Dual Layer DVD.
I have Toast on my Dual 450 Gig Ethernet, and
I have a Dual Layer capable Super Drive in my Lombard...
As far as I know there is no way on earth to get a Lombard into
Target disk mode, even though I have Firewire PC
QUESTION:
Is anybody else interested in the package?
If so, are there any suggestions where to put it so that people can download
it?
Cheers,
Andreas aka Mac User #330250
I'd be interested

Just open Disk Utility and click on burn then select the .dmg.
Tried that and made a coaster, luckily the 15 pack of DL DVDs are on
sale for $10 at staples this week, so it's not a huge loss.
The Lombard DVD drive may be too weak to do the burn.
John,
Can you elaborate on this? If it is a
Swap the HDDs?
Swap the ODDs?
Transfer the file via Bonjour?
Transfer the file via flash drive?

Hey Tina,
Transferring the file was no problem, I wanted TDM to control the
Lombard's ODD from the G4. As far as swapping the ODDs, if there is an
adapter out there to do that, I would

A Lombard can go into TDM, but it will be SCSI TDM not Firewire.
John
True, I just don't have a SCSI card for the G4.
Short term, I think I'll look into getting an older Toast. But long
term, I think I might make a wire hack project out of getting the DVD
burner to work in the Tower...

Why not just upgrade the burner in the Gig-E?

That is the best option.
SATA burners are now priced significantly below IDE burners.
A 22X IDE burner should be available from NewEgg or TigerDirect for under
$25, with free
