I have a G4 MDD Dual-1Gb, running 10.4.11. In 8 years it's never EVER
missed a beat and continues to be my faithful workhorse for graphic
arts and music recording. However, for my two original internal 80Gb
drives it's obviously just a matter of time before they fall over. So,

On your PPC machine it'll just sloow everything down by 20% or
more.
10.5 is optimised for Intel Macs and will make yours run like treacle.

Hmm . . . Interesting, just comparing notes here -
I use Firefox for most of my mail activity, but still use Safari for
Apple comms etc.
Haven't been getting any odd downloads like you have, but in the past

Force Quit to get out

Please forgive the non-tech speak . . .
Any insight you can provide for this relative layman would be hugely

1Gb MDD, and have been assured that it is compatible. However, my
manual states that this model uses PC2700 RAM and that the maximum
size module available is 512Mb.
Anybody have experience with this upgrade method?
Will it
Hello Tony -
Thanks for the clarification. Does it matter that it's a 400MHz
module, rather than the 333MHz specified in my manual?
And is the fact that it's Dual Channel an issue? Appreciate your
advice.
It certainly won't fry your Mac, as PC3200 is backwards compatible
with PC2700.
