I may be wrong? I have a Sony monitor very similar to yours (mine is an E500). I do not notice on my monitor the same problem you are experiencing, thus I cannot really help. IMO, though, there IS a glass panel in front of the actual CRT, because I think a CRT cannot be completely flat as the monitor appears. Hence, it could be some dust infiltrated between the CRT and that glass; I know some iMac (G5/Intel) had this problem, dust infiltrating underneath the screen (static energy on the screen obviously helps). Although, looking for "monitor dust inside" on Google, it looks like the dust problem affects much more the LCD displays than it does with the CTRs. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. OT slightly- Trinitron blemish on CRT will not clean up
OT slightly- Trinitron blemish on CRT will not clean up Using my G4 with an older CRT display Sony Trinitron Multiscan G500, I notice stuff on the screen that suggests it is simply dirty, but cleaning does not work. I also notice that the image (like the arrow) is clearly 1/4" on the other side of a thick piece of glass, because I can move my head and see that the stuff is on this side of the glass. Is this a protective glass that has somehow gotten dirty? I was under the impression we are looking as the actual CRT glass of the tube and no removable glass existed. I may be wrong? The picture is beautiful, but the stuff, grey smudges are annoying when you look closely. Any suggested cleaners? jml "I'm a designated FREE SPIRIT HITCHHIKING on the Information Super Highway" === -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. I seem to remember that WD external drives are known to be somehow problematic with Macs.
