I've dug my dear old green machine out of storage and have listed it

Its tray cd reader is shot, so I went to OWC to see what I could

OWC didn't list G3 iMac accessories
Suggestions ? thanks, Del

a beat of about 20 per second. First thing I did was disconnect all

I hadn't been clearing cache, so I found a place under prefs/privacy

How many bookmarks do you have? Are they in folders?
Thousands, all in folders, I don't know where one would get a total

One other thing that slows it way down is all the little

I think you'll find that Firefox (and perhaps most browsers) simply
choke on bookmark lists that big. Probably best to do some serious
weeding. Think hundreds, not thousands.
An app such as BookDog or URL Manager Pro might be helpful.
Try moving your massive bookmark file aside, then
You cannot, since you need Classic. That is, if you want to be able to
natively boot Mac OS 9.x you need a G4 that is not as new as a FW800 model.
If, on the other hand, you only require Classic from Mac OS 10.x up to 10.4,
you can also go for a G5. They are beautiful towers, great design
Hmmm, I do like the idea of using two HD's as you've described. I am

I am thinking to move on from my fearless old sawtooth to a mini, but
I'm not ready for the jump to 10.5.
From what I read on this Apple page the latest models that are fully

I'd love jumping to 10.5 or 10.6 - but I have enough docs in Pagemill
and Appleworks that the jump looks like a bloomin big mountain to
climb. Reading this guide to using OS9 apps on Intel macs puts me
right off my feed.
