As an update. This installation of 9.2 didn't in fact work - it didn't activate the PCI bus for some reason, and resulted in a system error if I put any PCI driver in the extension list. I think the 9.2 OS 'image' file was NFG. So I started all over again, I erased the spare drive, labeled it OS
