Camino should support exporting bookmarks; but afaik, stores it's bookmarks as
a single html file called bookmarks.html in your Camino profile, which should
be in your user library somewhere.

I don't know if TenFourFox uses the same scheme modern firefox uses for
bookmarks (where they're stores in an sqlite database, not a file) if it uses
the bookmarks, html file you can probably just replace it with the desired one.
If not you can use the bookmark manager to delete all your bokmarks and import
them from Caminos bookmarks.html file.

2013-06-26 Thread Jörg Duurkoop
 Hi,

I just installed TenFour Fox but that browser uses an old set of bookmarks
which I don't use any more. How can I update those bookmarks i.e. replace
them with my current Camino bookmarks? Can I point TenFour Fox to the
Camino bookmarks?

TIA for your help.

Best regards, Jörg.

Re: upgrade eMac

2013-06-26 Thread Geke
Yes, because Tiger is stable, a little faster than 10.3 and many programs
require 10.4.11 to run.
And yes, TenFourFox is great for that (the name reads "10.4 Fox") and has
optimized versions for G3 and two different G4 processors.
Another browser: Camino is more Mac-like and works well, too.

No solutions here, I'm sorry, but I can say that I switched to 10.4 from
10.3 years ago (on a G4), and I liked 10.4 more.
10.4 wasn't any slower than 10.3 (perhaps even a little bit faster
sometimes), and it gave me much more software compatibility and some nice
added features.
Really stable and efficient OSX version.

So, unless you have specific issues against it, I'd suggest going for
10.4.

Alas, TenFourFox will not run on 10.3. The lowest OS I support is 10.4.11.
10.3 lacks the secret CoreText which the font code relies upon, and the
OS libraries are not advanced enough to support the browser as written.

Re: upgrade eMac

2013-06-22 Thread ROBERT H. BAUCOM
I don't know which eMac you have, but I bought a used eMac G4, 1.25GHz several
years ago. Loved it as i had my SE30 * back in '93.
My wife has used it for her eMail these past three years. I had upgraded it to
OS10.5.8 (Leopard) way back when. It's a great OS and very stable. I recommend
it with out any reservations. I bought an eMac 10.5 install disk for it
several years ago. and did the upgrade to 10.5.8.
The only minor problem that I had was having to upgrade Apple Works from ver
6.2.7 to 6.2.9. The good thing is. it will run Quicken 7. The last good Money
Management app they made. So saying I have put OS10.5.8 on my Quicksilver and
Quicken 7. Since it's not connected to the internet, I keep all our finances,
investments, income tax and password list on it.
The "Quicken Essentials" SW, sucks in my estimation.

Not true. No Apple system ever required you have the preevious system version
installed and updated until 10.7 (which required 10.6.8 for access to the App
Store) You can install 10.4 on a completely blank disk.

If you DO what to update to 10.3.9, just download the combo updater from apple:

I have an eMac with 10.3.3 I understand that I must upgrade to 10.3.9
before I can go to Tiger. Maybe not true.
Should it be , I don`t know how to upgrade to to 10.3.9. Any help
appreciated.
