First of all, is Geke your name? My mother is also called Geke.
Secondly, USB devices are Plug 'n Play, that means you don't need any
drivers.
It could be a corrupt OS but also a corrupt firmware.
Check both of them and try again.

lightening that knocked out my ethernet port in my Quicksilver 2002
Dual 1GHz (and a Nikon 5000Ed scanner ...) over the ethernet network

It also messed up the PCI slots and/or USB channel. Didn't show up
