Do we need to be too concerned about usage with apps such as these? Not
really video streaming, I don't think. Don't know what to call these apps
 webcam usage …

Theye officially called videoconferencing calls, and everything going through
one of these adapters is counted as data, since they're not cellphones.

USB and Wireless, that is.

Or is USB just not the best for streaming anything like video …

Not sure what you mean. now. DO you mean WiFi or a phone line
modem? Regular old 56K, no way, WifI sure.

I might be traveling to Ghana, and this is offered there:

http://www.vodafone.com.gh/Personal/Promotion/Get-a-mobile-broadband-modem-for-only-GH
¢-1.aspx

Wondering if a Macbook or other G4 would work well with it.

They explicitly state Mac compatibility, and in my experience most
of these cellular broadband devices are mac compatible, although I
don't know about G4's, though.

Its a cellular broadband device. Do they stream video at all well?

Well it depends on your connection but at their nominal data rate, they should
work reasonably well. I've known several people who use skype regularly with
such.

Uh, VERY IMPORTANT! Make sure you fully understand Data charges. If
you are going to stream video, you are going to burn through that 3GB
pretty quickly. How much per GB is it after the promo allotment? I
have read WAY TOO many stories of people running up $1,000 bills
after the promo allotment is gone over.

Thanks for the heads-up ...

A friend in Ghana is using it now for the first time ... talking to me
with Yahoo Messenger, and maybe Skyoe.
