Hi Luca,
I had a similar issue and I exported proxy url’s in run.sh and toolshed started
working. It might be helpful.
run.sh:
#!/bin/sh
cd `dirname $0`
export http_proxy=http://your_proxy:port
export ftp_proxy=http://your_proxy:port

my server is behind a proxy with user authentication.
Wget and hg work fine however unfortunately when I try to install from the
tool shed I get error since the system is using urllib2 that is known not
to be compatible with proxy with authentication.
How should one locally install

Looks like a permission issue. Is your FTP server set to use the same
user/group as galaxy?
For reference: my proftpd is configured to use LDAP user information,
but then it forces the user/group id of uploaded files to be that of galaxy

I apologize if somebody has already proposed this idea.
I think that it would be great to have a filter for the history panel based
on name, data type and so on similar to the one on the tools panel. I
really feel the need of it when working on histories with many datasets.
