Re: [galaxy-user] Trying to "unshare" a history in order to delete

2014-01-16 Thread Jennifer Jackson

Hi David,

Which public server are you using? It sounds like it is using an older
release. Still, there should be some way to get to to the Share or
Publish form - use the original way that you shared - via "Share current
history"? If you want to share the server link, I can maybe help if you
cannot remember how it was done.

For the Genomic Hyperbrowser, that is definitely an older UI menu.

Let us know if you need help after this, I am not clear if you found
what you need or not.

Hi Jen,

When I click the gear (with the history selected) as in the video I don't get that
pop-up. A window opens in the center with the header "History Options" and
nine sub headings:
• Previously stored histories
• Create a new empty history
• Construct workflow from current history
• Copy current history
• Share current history
• Change default permissions for current history
• Show deleted datasets in current history
• Rename current history (stored as "History_trying_to delete")
• Delete current history

(If I click Delete here I get a warning, then after yes, I also get the "has been
shared with others, unshare before deleting").

Oddly, when I'm over on the genomic hyperbrowser server I do get that pop-up (although in their set
up there is no "gear", but an "options" button).

Thanks,

David

The links under the "Share" column on the "Saved History" view do appear to be
inactive. I'll follow up with our development team about the expected behavior - are just
refreshing the page right now. I don't recall these actually bringing up an unshare option in the
recent builds. Thanks for pointing this out - my guess is that either no link is needed or this is
under-developed functionality.

Hopefully this helps!

Jen, maybe you can add deleting shared histories to your deleting/disk space
video?
