5/19/2006


Introduction

Hello, gamers.
Some of you have emailed our sales department with questions about Monty 
and some questions about the expected STFC patch. We will attempt to 
answer these questions here in this news letter.

Final Conflict


I know that previously I had mentioned that the patch would be ready at 
the beginning of May. Well, life got in the way of the plans, and it has 
taken until now to get the patch stable enough for release. There are a 
couple of miner changes and updates I want to get in to the patch, and I 
am hoping to have a release ready by Saturday afternoon.
This patch will correct some critical errors in STFC 1.0 beta, and 
should get everyone up to date with the changes fairly quickly. I'm 
debating on weather or not to do a full upgrade or a patch, but it might 
be better to do a full install as some of you had problems getting it 
installed with .net framework 2.0 which I should be upgrading to in the 
coming months before release.

Montezuma's Revenge

Some of you have been asking when Montezuma's Revenge will be rleased. 
Honestly, I can't say. I've been working on three separate projects not 
giving any one of them all my divotion at any single time.  However, 
just know the new Monty engine is doing well. There are a few things I 
want to fix, but once I do that I am going to begin coding temple 2 and 
the bonus temple. After that we can see about getting an Alpha out to 
play with.

Even with all the other projects I am working on I have began over 
halling the SWJS engine. There is allot of features I am going to work 
on with this game when I get the time, and as per request ages ago I am 
adding a wide range of force powers you can choose from such as push, 
pull, heal, jump, and force sspeed, and saber throw. Dark siders have 
force blinding and lightning to add to the force abilities. I have 
decided to loosely but not quite base this game on Mysteries of the 
Sith. Why?
Well, some of the Lucas Arts titles were really good to play. I have a 
memory of the layouts of some of the levels, and that will allow me to 
code the levels allot quicker. Although, since the levels are three 
dementional there is  allot more to designing the levels than with 
Monty. You have rooms above you, below you, and hall ways, leading off 
to the rooms on the same level. It makes the levels lot more difficult 
to travel than sod which is all on one level.
Other things to consider is you might walk in to a hall and there can be 
storm troopers up on a balcony above you firing down at you. You will 
have to force jump up there, or try and shoot them from your position 
with a captured blaster. In tother words enemies can be above or below 
you as well as left, right, ahead, and behind you.
So that is where we are with that title. I'm going to cut this short so 
I can get some sleep, but when I get up I plan to work on the STFC patch.

How will you be able to direct the sound on Gedi Strike?  If we only have 
stereo speakers and standard headphones will we be able to play it?

Hi Ivan,

Really the main difference between version 5 and 6 of my golf game is that 
version 6 uses the sapi5 text to speech engine rather than recorded Eloquence 
speech.  I have also changed some of the special keys around so that the game 
works a bit better in the chat rooms.  Also since it is now a TTS game it can 
say lots more stuff like your name, read the golf log and record file etc.

Hi Mike,

I did add a bunch of new sound files to the golf game, but the only ones that 
you will hear is the alternative hit power indicator ones, the water at the 
holes with a big lake or ocean and the ball washer sound.  All of the other new 
sound files are the ones that play if you don't press a key for a while.  You 
know the random ambient sound files.

  I don't know if you guys are aware of it or not, but regular tournaments
 are played using Jim's golf game on Vip Conduit and For The People, and
 probably some others as well.

[Audyssey] game web sites

Hey Johnny, or anyone else out here, does anyone happen to have a hurting
sound? I have searched for one, but haven't found one how I have been
searching. I am wanting 2 different types of hurting sounds 1 for 1 person
and 1 for the other. Like someone got hit with something and they said
either ouch or sound like they got hit in the stomach.

true, but it is good, like you said. I don't know if Jim would want to code 
in that much extra stuff. I mean I like it now and I play it quite often, 
but I admit that when on offense, it is pretty much hit and miss. Pretty

It would also be nice if there were more plays for different situations, 
more pass plays to different recievers or tight ends, fullback and running 
back plays also, this makes the game of football interesting, and keeps the 
defense honest.. I think this game is good, but it lacks the real life 
football situations that makes football a real stradegy game...

I am not igor but am a tester.
In fact I thought I had to play one more round of tests before release.
But I guess not.
the trial is 3 days.
the game is around 70mb in size I think its more closer to 65mb in size.
Its a good game.

   Just like Galaxy Ranger, you guys have come up with a really cool game, 
executed very well and will definately be a lot of fun to play.
  But unfortunately, just like Galaxy Ranger, the documentation  is 
disjointed, and hard to follow.
  I realize english is probably hnot your first language, and given that 
fact, I think you guys did the best you could.  But personally, I think it 
would be money very well spent if you hired someone to do your documentation 
that can spend time laying it out in a more organized manner, and make sure 
things are grammatically correct and consistent.
   I tried to talk several people into playing Galaxy Ranger, because I felt 
it was an excellent and unique game, but they got frustrated with the 
documentation and gave up.  I'm afraid if you guys don't change the docs 
with this new release, you are going to lose a lot of potential players out 
there.
  I highly recommend both this new game and Galaxy Ranger to all accessible 
players out there.  I promise you the time spent going through the 
documentation will be well worth it.  There are very few multiplayer games 
out there for us, and Igor and his crew have created another great game.
  I hope you take this in the spirit it was intended, which is constructive 
critisism, not a flame.  I just hate to see this game not get the audience 
it deserves because people are confused by the instructions.

I think simon was doing the docs.
I found the documentation a but frustrating.
I am used by trial and error once i know basic commands in getting 
stuff to work.
If the job comes up for writing the docs though I would be happy to take it.

to come out! Well, I have just finished   writing part of the first level.
I tell you, we are still a long long long long long long long long  way from
the game being  reddy  for beta testers.  But, all I can say,  is the game
is going quite  well! We are thinking of making a game after  dr, (dragon
woreors), called   cr,  (careless  racing). We want you're suggestions  on
what yall want in the game! I am probubly  going to releace  a demo of
dragon  woreors  for yall some time in January  2007 or somewhere  around
