[Audyssey] KJC Games Order Editor

2008-06-14 Thread Orin
Hey all,

When attempting to add an order to a turn, I see the catagories, then
the orders. If I go to "buy from shop", I only see an "delete issued
order" button and not an "add issued order" button. I could've swore I
found it with the jaws kerser before, but I can't find it now.

one thing I found was that ie never connected I purchaced flashfxp, and thats
quite good, some sites require passive some do not and well there is a major
list created so you can quickly do stuff.
However if you have a system crash then you need to login to every site you
visit once and its all ok again.

Re: [Audyssey] RS Games site update

2008-06-14 Thread shaun everiss
yeah mine was an 386sx, running toshiba dos 5.0, I got it in 1993.
I didn't discover games till 1996 and then the system survived till 2003 when
it finally died.
I have never been able to emulate all the old style games nicely.
One of the major drawbacks is that I can't get the back of my sa synth to
change the batteries.
And another to have the keynote software work I need a 386 thats either a
straight 86 or an sx running msdos 5 or 6.
I tried to get a laptop that was like this but never did.
saying that if ever anyone on here does have one in working condition they
don't want I may be interested.
or even another old system that still has a few years good life in it.
Idealy I'd like several that I can just change parts out of.
I doubt that will happen but I'd still like to run all the old stuff again
Now if I could get something to run with a screenreader in dos using the
soundcard and switch to my notepad file with hints should I like to then yeah
I'd probably do it.
another thing is though I have no real desk space now, so who knows.

Yeah they do, when 1, you can set them up, and 2, you can secure the data.
FTP is the most insecure means of file transfer going.

Re: [Audyssey] Game Chat Reminder

2008-06-14 Thread ari
Strange that the other time should be better, probably it is for the US and
Australasia, but for people in Europe and Africa like me the Saturday time
is the best, it's 7 in the evening here, whereas the other time is 2 in the
morning on a week night!-) So if you want to make a once-a-month chat,
please try and make it an hour which will be comfortable, so many things on
that ftp are impossible times, unless you're a real night-owl, grin.

Ok in file zilla tab to the advance button and then tab till you see the
radio buttons and set it to either active or default. If you then connect
and don't see the list try the other setting either active or default. I
don't allow passive mode so if you set to that mode you won't be able to
see the directory. I also use file zilla here.

Re: [Audyssey] Other playable psp games

2008-06-14 Thread Tom Randall
Hi Clement and all.

Yes the menus can be problematic I suspect in just about all of these
games. Even tekken requires sighted assistance to learn or write down
the menu system so that you can navigate it and I suspect that is going
to be the case for all of them. I have not found any info that is all
that helpful on gamefaqs for most of these games as far as the menu
systems go. This is of course not surprising because sighted game
players can read and navigate the menus for themselves. Fortunately
once you get into actual game play then you can really benefit from a
lot of the stuff on gamefaqs and other places that actually list out the
various moves and cheats and strategies and all that.

I need to find more time to write up more info on Tekken's various menus
and I will get to it eventually, we have been too busy around here to
work on it lately. Speaking of busy I am outa here for now have to go
and start cleaning reptile cages.

Best regards,

Tom

The actual gameplay is simple... most likely it was the menus that gives
the
problems. lol.

Pardon the typoes... I meant mortal kombat and smack down. Anyone who's
played mortal kombat will know that that series is anything but moral.
lol.

Re: [Audyssey] Other playable psp games

2008-06-14 Thread Tom Randall
Hey thanks for the aditions Tyler, yeah I will probably check out MK on
psp sometime fairly soon here. I'd get it for Gennisis too however I
think that one only comes on cd and I do not have the cd unit for my
gennisis at this time. Have seen a couple on ebay but they were frankly
a bit steeper than I wanted to go. Oh well I will find one eventually I
am sure.

Regards,

Tom

Hi

Well, I found one more, grand theft auto: liberty city. Just run using
the
analogue knub, keep hitting triangle, you'll hear yourself steeling a
car.
Its rather satisfying to steel a car on a game, and it feels sorta good
when
you beat up a thug (cheats can be gotten that make it a lot easier to do

this, the pedestrians can be set to come after you, drag you outa your
car,
you can also have the game give you every weapon in the game...even a
chain
saw!) I usually just drive around. Oh yeah, there's a code for a tank
which
can never blow up, so it doesn't matter what you hit into, and another
cheat
to float on water. THat makes for a lot of fun.

Lets see. Mortal Kombat is another good game, that's been mentioned
before.
Speaking of that, I just used jacks to beat mortal kombat 64 on the
easiest
dificulty, Its been a while. It was fun. My favorite character is
nightwolf,
if you can find him on the psp. I really liked him onthe genisus,
though. He
had a cool move with some sort of spere, I really can't remember. I have
to
get the old 'genny out and fool around with that. (Having so many
systems
can be annoying, I was trying to find the AV cable for my n64 and kept
getting the wrong one, once for the 3do and once for the saturn, then I
fianlly found it).

hope that helps

[Audyssey] Site update for RS Games

2008-06-14 Thread Andy
Hi all.
Rs Games has some new updates. As most of you know I am Ryan's twin bro, so I
figured
I'd lett yall know what's going on.

Rs Games will be closed for a few months. As schooling draws to a close, Ryan
felt he
needed some time off from development. All game production has stopped, review
the website for more
info.

So I don't clog up the list, the web address is:rsgames.co.nr

Re: [Audyssey] Game Chat Reminder

2008-06-14 Thread Charles Rivard
Guest speakers could be game developers, and Q and A sessions might be fun.
I like your once a month idea, and agree that Saturdays might be the best
time, but when we first started the biweekly chats, the other one seemed to
draw more people, although I don't know why, unless people were more busy
with family and stuff of Saturdays.

Stop repeat offenders! Don't reelect them!

Re: [Audyssey] Game Chat Reminder

2008-06-14 Thread Richard sherman
Hi,

If you are looking for comments, here is my two cents worth.

Instead of twice a week, set it up for twice, or even once a month. Especially
with summer here it seems like we all are pretty busy. And it appears that
Saturday would be a good day to have it.

Also, if a guest speaker could be arranged, it could bring in more people.

just my thoughts.

Hi Shaun,
you were lucky. In my day Windows didn't exist. At least not on the IBM
platform. There was the X-Windows system for Unix servers, but on IBM
systems we had good old MS Dos. Since my parents couldn't afford an IBM
we had an Apple A2-J running Apple Works.
I still remember how primitive the Apple Works os was. you inserted this
big 5.25 inch floppy disk into the drive, and from the command prompt
you used the run command to launch programs on the disk. If memory
serves me correctly edit opened text files the same way it does on MS
Dos. Great for doing homework, playing some games like Orig an Trail,
etc but crap compared to what kids run today.
I didn't get an IBM until 1993 or so and by then the IBM i386 systems
were out with Windows 3.1 and MS Dos 6.x. That was a major leap forward
in technology for me, but still ain't nothing to write home about
compared to this laptop I am using right now.

Hi,
Yeah, I think Ryan had a good start on a game company for someone so
young. I know I couldn't have started my own game company at 12. At 12
years old I was too busy hanging out with school chums, playing around
with my Nintendo games, and playing with some Apple computers with an
Echo 2+.
When I was 12 the most advanced operating system available for IBM
platform users was MS Dos 5.0 running on a I286. In my day that was the
cream of technology, and today it isn't worth crap.
Back then I might have been running a somewhat older but stable Apple
A2-J with an Echo. It was a great computer for playing those old Apple
games. If I had wanted to program I would have had to do them in Apple
Basic.

That's why all my characters are warrior mages. That way you have the
proficiency in magic and the mastery of weapons all in one character. If you
use your EXP wisely you can create a formidable fighter and yet still have
the skill in magic you want. One of my characters has level seventy in
Restoration as a matter of fact and she's also seventy in Weaponry,
Slashing, Woodsmanship and Thievery. I don't think she's got a single skill
or power below fifty or sixty.

Oh, that truly bites. I had never played a Mage character before so I

I have two characters so having a Mage and a warrior character isn't too
much of atrouble for me.

Hi Rich,
Yes, I was hosting the Tarzan files for a while. The only reason I am
not now is do to a hacker that whiped out my web hosts servers and took
with it my entire web site. I have been slowly and painfully rebuilding
the site from scratch.
For anyone who is interested the PB Games web page for my web site is
still in the things to do list, and I hope to get them going as soon as
I can.

Re: [Audyssey] Tarzan junior

2008-06-14 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Aiden and all,
If you all can please be patient I will get the PB Games mirror back up
on the USA Games web site. Unfortunately, do to events totally out of my
control I have had no chanse to get the PB Games titles back on the USA
games web site. First, the USA Games web site was hacked, and totally
whiped out in February. Second, I had to relocate most of the files that
were on the web site, and rewrite some pages/scripts from scratch.
Third, my apartment is currently being referbished so I have no access
to my web site materials right now. Until I get access to them I won't
be able to put Tarzan and the other PB Games back up.
I will try, emphasis on try, to stop by my apartment in the near future
and get the PB Games titles off of my office computer, and put them on
my USB thumb drive. Then, I can upload them from my in-laws house.
Things are so crazy right now that I can't promise when anything dealing
with the USA games site will be up and running again.
Cheers.

Hi Lisa and all,
No, all of Ryan's games were free. So at least for him he doesn't have
to worrry about refunding orders or finishing projects. Keep in mind
Ryan is only 12 years old so his decision to drop out of the game
developers community and be a kid isn't all that surprising. Being a
game developer is a rather big job for a 12 year old. I'm glad to see
how far he came before calling it quits.

Hi all,
For the first time in a long while, after my microphone has been sorted out
and stressful exams, I can probably come onto games chat, but I tried twice
before, and noone was there. I reckon it's because I'm often there at the
time set, but, if I were to wait, does it fill up, or is it often the way
that this is basically just a robot reminder and hardly anyone actually does
do chats anymore?
Thanks

[Audyssey] Explaining the Inform Hints System

2008-06-14 Thread ari
Hi all,
I know to some of you this might be stupid, but, maybe to some this will be
useful, as I think I've at last understood how to navigate the inform hints
system. Basically, it's very easy, all you do is, enter or "return" as
inform puts it, moves you to a new level, while q moves you backwards, and
the > sign indicates the subject you will choose. What I mean is, type
"hint" and you get a long list, such as, "inside the House", "About the
author", "Outside the house", etc. Then, you move through that list by
pressing "n" for next subject, so, if I were to just press the enter, it
would show me a sub-section of hints for "inside the house", but if I were
to press n, it would move the subject to "about the author" and pressing
enter would then show me about the author. So, if I want hints for "outside
the house", I'd press N twice, then enter. Then I get to a subsection of
hints, like "How do I get over the fence?", "How do I get Past the Dog?"
"How do I break the Window?", and, again, I cycle through these hints by
pressing n, and the hint I want to see the answer to I press Enter. When I
want to go a level back or return to game, I just press q over and over
until I'm in the game again.
Hope this helps someone else as well.
Ari
