I have noticed that the aim point seems to change from time to time, and
have likewise attributed it to ear balance, except that it also seems to
change from weapon to weapon from what I call medium range out.  (medium =
about longest range for the shotgun weapons.)

off by the language, and mis out on a great experience due to a few 
folks that feel the need to throw an f bomb into every sentence.
without assigning moderators or putting in word filtering in code, 
the only solution i see is to assign the default channel as PG rated or 
whatever, with other channels maybe being unrated for the profane 
amongst us.
   if Aprone wanted to get creative with this issue, he could deduct a 
rep point for using carlin's 7 words, along with a spoken warning or 
something, but this is more coding on top of his already massive to do list.
   ideally, the community would self regulate if aprone felt it was a 
problem and let everyone know the default channel isn't for language to 
make your grandma stroke out.

Che I totally agree.  As most people know, I rarely have time to actually play 
Swamp so I tend to miss out on certain perspectives of the game.  After reading 
this email I went to the server, skimmed through the chat log, and for the 
first time am seeing just how profane some of the chat is.  I hadn't considered 
this, and I suppose it was naive of me to expect everyone to just automatically 
take the high road and keep the language appropriate for the many age groups 
that are likely playing.  I think I'll add in some rules for the next version, 
so that the main channels will remain PG in nature.  I also worry that the 
strong language will immediately turn some people off to the game.

To avoid being naive once again, should I expect some people to ignore the 
rules and just continue swearing in those channels?  If so, then I'll need to 
program in some admin commands and grant those powers to a few individuals that 
would be willing to police the chat channels for foul language or mature 
content.  If people are more likely to just follow the rules I set, then I 
won't bother with this extra work.

Actually I am hoping to solve this problem with some improved zombie AI that's 
in the works.  This will make them considerably more skilled at navigating 
through buildings so they will be less likely to get stuck in those types of 
places.

Oh yeah, and this answer isn't meant to imply that the skill tree idea isn't 
being considered, because it is.  :D

 Worst place for that to happen is the
 factory, because zombies are
 confused by that staircase set, so they just kind of
 collect there,
 and you don't know if they're there until BANG! You're in
 the middle
 of a good truckload.
 
 I'm going to ask in this thread if Jeremy, you'll consider
 making
 weapons draw them a little more and footsteps a little
 less. I've
 literally taken a footstep a second, sneaking around, and
 they still
 come toweard me. There must surely be a point at which, if
 they're not
 smelling you out, which if they are I'll shut up, that you
 can sneak
 by them quietly. Again, that silent movement thing would be
 pretty
 awesome there, but that's dependent on putting up a skills

[Audyssey] To Yohandi, your space channel 5 playthrough

Hi Yohandi,

I just listened to your space channel 5 playthrough. You really had a 
streak going there, I think I would have made far more mistakes. I even 
got lost at times while listening. *lol*


What made me curious is that there seem to be parts where the sounds 
don't tell you which direction or button to press. How can you play 
these parts? There was for example one part where there was the same 
sound for every direction on the d-pad, but you did them all right. So, 
how did you do that?


Maybe I'll try this game myself when you solve this mystery for me.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I did have a pretty good streak. stupid 
cheerleader part messe me up. sounds like their talking with their mouth 
full or something. as to the inaccessible parts, well that's easy. I had 
them written down lol. had the cheerleader stuff written down as well, but 
that would've felt more like cheating, so I didn't use it. other sections I 
had no choice but to use the guide, or I would've failed. Listening is fun, 
but playing it is a lot more fun, so I definitely recommend this game. I've 
already unlocked everything, so if you need help once you get it, let me 
know!

at report 5 to avoid spoilers. But nice one all the same! I wish they had 
more variations in the pattern though... it's such a small game, and one 
that had so much potential.

thanks Clement! There's so much you can do with dpad and buttons though. 
they could've added the square and triangle buttons though. that would've 
made things a lot more interesting. I just wish there was a space channel 3. 
and make it like 20 hours long. lol.

unlocking some of the trophies in particular can be extremely frustrating. I 
don't know if you noticed the secret notes? check cheerleader part for a ton 
of the things. those are going to give you some problems. the ones on the 
Stay tuned! parts are extremely annoying, and are usually right at the end 
of a checkpoint, so you have to start the whole section over if you miss 
them. and some of those checkpoints are reeally long! then you also have 
to worry about getting all the commands perfectly. it can all be done quite 
accessibly if you put in the time though. If you guys need a list of tough 
or inaccessible commands let me know and I'll provide that info.

You have my full agreement there. Unfortunately, this game was released on 
the dreamcast in its dying days... so as much as I'd like to see a SC 3, I 
don't think that's going to happen. And I figured out the reason why so many 
people find some sections to be so hard to understand... there's a lot of 
voiceovers left from the Japanese version and when they say directions they 
have a very heavy accent. And to all wondering why they'd even use English 
words in a Japanese game... it's simple. Japanese directions wouldn't work 
well with this, because the rhythms would be off due to the words themselves 
having multiple syllables. It could potentially work, but then the music 
would have to be completely different for both versions.

thanks Clement! There's so much you can do with dpad and buttons though. 
they could've added the square and triangle buttons though. that would've

That was a nice playthrough... I haven't beaten it myself yet so I 
stopped at report 5 to avoid spoilers. But nice one all the same! I wish

   At what number of kills do you officially have a swamp problem?
3000, 5000?
   I have a really small issue that is almost certainly just me, but was
wondering if maybe anyone else was experiencing it.
   If I fire at what i perceive to be dead center, I miss a lot, if I
fire slightly to the right of what i think is center, i have much better
success.
so probably what we've got here is a slight imbalance between my
ears sensitivity wise, but wanted to throw that out there to see if
maybe others had noticed it.
   and when i say slightly, i mean very slightly, like just a couple
degrees.
   one last thing here as well, some of you guys are really going
overboard with the profanity on the default radio channel.
   anyone that knows me personally knows i am not adverse to cussing to
say the least, but my concern here is that newer players will be tuned
off by the language, and mis out on a great experience due to a few
folks that feel the need to throw an f bomb into every sentence.
without assigning moderators or putting in word filtering in code,
the only solution i see is to assign the default channel as PG rated or
whatever, with other channels maybe being unrated for the profane
amongst us.
   if Aprone wanted to get creative with this issue, he could deduct a
rep point for using carlin's 7 words, along with a spoken warning or
something, but this is more coding on top of his already massive to do list.
   ideally, the community would self regulate if aprone felt it was a
problem and let everyone know the default channel isn't for language to
make your grandma stroke out.

unlocking some of the trophies in particular can be extremely frustrating. 
I don't know if you noticed the secret notes? check cheerleader part for a 
ton of the things. those are going to give you some problems. the ones on 
the Stay tuned! parts are extremely annoying, and are usually right at the 
end of a checkpoint, so you have to start the whole section over if you 
miss them. and some of those checkpoints are reeally long! then you 
also have to worry about getting all the commands perfectly. it can all be 
done quite accessibly if you put in the time though. If you guys need a 
list of tough or inaccessible commands let me know and I'll provide that 
info.

unlocking some of the trophies in particular can be extremely 
frustrating. I don't know if you noticed the secret notes? check 
cheerleader part for a ton of the things. those are going to give you 
some problems. the ones on the Stay tuned! parts are extremely 
annoying, and are usually right at the end of a checkpoint, so you have 
to start the whole section over if you miss them. and some of those 
checkpoints are reeally long! then you also have to worry about 
getting all the commands perfectly. it can all be done quite accessibly 
if you put in the time though. If you guys need a list of tough or 
inaccessible commands let me know and I'll provide that info.

That was a nice playthrough... I haven't beaten it myself yet so I 
stopped at report 5 to avoid spoilers. But nice one all the same! I 
wish they had more variations in the pattern though... it's such a 
small game, and one that had so much potential.

ah, ok. But I really doubt I could remember such long passages after 
reading them to be able to get it right in the actual game. *lol*
But I'll certainly try to get my hands on the game and will let you 
know when I got it and if there are any questions. I would at least 
the menu layout and things
