Re: [Audyssey] Two-Fer-One E-mail: Laser Tag and iOS Game
Alright. And just to confirm, this is all assuming your home button is to your right? Going to give this a spin again... - Original Message - From: "Dakotah Rickard" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Friday, December 21, 2012 3:54 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Two-Fer-One E-mail: Laser Tag and iOS Game Ok. Hmmm. Where to begin. The control stick for navigating your ship is located along the bottom left corner of your screen, which is put into landscape mode by default. Let's assume your Home button is to the right, your control stick is about one inch square, maybe an inch and a half, but I don't think so. It's just at the bottom left corner, and the thing you need to remember is that there is inertia and acceleration. What I mean is this. If you push the control stick on the left side or move it left, you won't just slide left. You will build up speed in that direction. If you are touching the control stick icon, your engines are firing, and you are moving in the direction you've touched. If you go outside the control stick's borders, you are no longer firing your engines, and you come to a stop over time. As for your weapons buttons, your bottom right corner, and a two inch by one inch rectangle proceeding left and up from that point is your primary firing button. Weapons fired with this button have unlimited ammunition. Above this, along the right side of the device's screen are two more panels, about an inch square, with secondary weapons firing functions. These panels fire ammunition based weapons: rockets, missiles, mines, and the like. The primary weapon for your first ship is a straight-firing energy cannon, with a firing rate of about 3 shots a second. It's pretty distinctive. As for switching ships, you start out with one ship, the Light Fighter. It's fast, maneuverable, but relatively weak in both arms and armor. You also start with a full complement of missiles and missile plumes. These two weapons, unfortunately, sound identical, and you really don't want to keep both equipped anyway, as they perform, basically, the same function, firing a projectile, or a series of five projectiles, which track to close-range targets. In the store, there are three tabs, accessed with buttons across the top. The first is the Items tab, and it contains all the ammunition based weapons that you can buy. Technically, you already own whatever weapons, you're just buying ammo for them. If you follow the left side of the device's screen, you'll see the list of weapons, starting with Homing Missile. On the right side and in the middle are various data about the selected weapon. Swiping left and right moves between these fields, and you'll see a button labeled Equipped. If you select a different weapon, rockets, for example, you will notice that the Equipped button changes to the Equip button, and it's no longer dimmed out. press this to equip the selected weapon, and you'll be prompted to choose one of your two currently equipped systems to unequip to effect the transfer. Changing ships works similarly. You select the Ships tab in the row across the top and locate a different ship in the list down the left side. Please remember that you start with only the Light Fighter. Other ships cost money. Sometimes that money is in-game, sometimes' it's real money. Explore your options and read about all the ships and their prices and characteristics in the fields in the middle and on the right. Whether you're selecting weapons or ships, there's a buy button on the bottom right, just below the Equip button. If this button is dimmed out, you can't buy it, because you don't have the funds. If you have the funds, select the buy button. As for the tutorial mission, I sort of skipped it by mistake. Any mission you choose, except I think the Tutorial, is multiplayer. Deep Space mining is the first, under the missions selection screen. There are others along the left side. You'll want to press the start button in the bottom right part of the screen to begin and the OK button in the bottom left, about an inch over, if you have any boosts. Keep in mind that there are no unlabeled buttons in ErnCon that are app-related. The only unlabeled buttons are advertisements, and these should be treated with care. The free game only ran on Windows, and was our sole multiplayer title. What originally started out as a fun project turned into a dream come true on this date. We received a heap of feedback from players, extolling our work, as well as asking for more games. Therefore, several months later, we released Uno, and the RS Games Client which currently powers our multiplayer platform. Unlike Monopoly, this piece of software runs on three common operating systems, Mac, Windows, and Linux. It also allows us to release new games without people having to go to a website and download new software. In celebration of our first anniversary, on December 20th, 2010, we added Yahtzee as our third title. It is one of the more popular games on the server, and based on the comments from many players, we know hours of fun have been spent playing it. In celebration of our second anniversary, December 20th, 2011, we released Apples to Apples. It is a really fun game that we know our players are enjoying. To celebrate the third anniversary of RS Games, we are releasing two new games, the classic dice game Farkle and the card game Rummy! Our testers have had an inordinate amount of fun playing these games, and I'm confident all of you will too. If you already have the client installed, all you need to do is login to start playing. Re: [Audyssey] Alter Aeon Game Tips
Although I prefer to play cleric mage, I tend to use necro as a 3rd class, so I keep a load of spells maintained as well as maybe take a clay man or bone guardian and maybe a skeleton. If I'm going nto a higher level area, I normally run pretty slow, but cast hand spells on both myself and the clay man. I sometimes use wood woads, but they get hit hard by fire spells, so they don't last long at times. Mind you, my woad has 314 hp if I remember right. For areas like the nurgling swamp, you would want to use slow poison and protection from evil if you're good aligned. oviously if you're nutral or evil aligned it won't matter too much. I have several thoughts. First off, the where command is your friend, make sure you use it in any new area sinse if you walk into an area too high for your level you will die, no questions asked. Always make sure you are at least the same level, or in sme some cases over the level for the area that you are in. Next, preparation. if you walk into areas without your preparatory spells and such up, you are going to be in trouble. My character for instance as a clerric warrior has bless, armor, faith shield, protection from evil and holy weapon, and that's not counting stuff I get from necromancers bennifits. then, make sure you have a way to heal yourself. As a cleric for me this isn't a problem, but other class combinations will likely need to carry more healing with them to heal in battle. Lastly, equipment. you can't just pick up and wear anything in the game, or even anything that is your level. one of the best tips dentin gave me was that playing a clerric warrior, i wanted gear that improved my hit roll more than my armor, so that I could dish out more damage to monsters and would be reliant upon my spells for protection. Same goes for spells too, I always for instance have a demon familiar of the red imp who improves hit and regen. I'm not sure what class your character is, but this might be something to considder, especially when you have gear that can actually lower your cast level, ie, make all your spells worse, or gear that can increase your resistance to magic, and that counts both friendly spells you or others cast upon yourself, and unfriendly spells from enemies. then, get your stratogy sorted. elemental weaknesses, spells that do continuous damage or cause status conditions and curses can help a lot. As a cleric I often find spells like feeble mind really handy, not to mention elemental type spirit hammer. necro minians can also be helpfull as meat shields in nasty areas as well, or so I've found. Personally I will confess the slowness of getting through arcase and the lack of new areas is getting a bit of a drag at the moment, sinse right now I seem stuck betwene the same old areas and not strong enough to go into new oneswhich is why I've not played as much alter as I might have, but I do intend to carry on with the game and eventually make it to the mainland, and more areas are added all the time, I enjoyed the new dragon keepers castle, indeed, I enjoyed all of the dark forest, though i wish it was a little longer and slightly higher level. [Audyssey] Change Reaction: finishing within the last second, and other thoughts
Hi all, I've had a couple games pot Change Reaction where I completed the game and the game reported that the clock was at 0. I personally think that's rather neat, and I kind of wish it could go into the tenths or hundredths of a second in those situations. One play I would like to see allowed is when you have a situation such as (Dime, blank, blank, Dime), to be allowed to play dimes in either of those blank spots to connect the four of them and remove them from the board. If I remember correctly, this was allowed in the old version. Also, would it be possible to have the bonus round playable from the main menu once you've beaten it in a regular game? In this case the round would just keep track of your best time. Karl --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Turn can be pretty useful for exp, but it's also a risk. If you manage to find the perfect mobs, you can get millions of exp in a very short period of time. Re: [Audyssey] Alter Aeon Game Tips
I would have to disagree with some of this. Especially if you take a group, you can handle areas far higher than your level. Also, it's sometimes important to make sure you use all of your characters abilities. Some of them may not appear to be that useful (such as dirt throwing), but if you can prevent a mob from dodging, or you can make it cast and hit at half the speed, it's often worth the extra mana/hp. As regards the where command, it's honestly not that accurate. Yes, you can get a generic hint as to the area, but don't rely on that heavily. If you find yourself hurt, just flee/retreat and regen. Healing yourself can actually hurt more than it helps, especially at higher levels. One spell that (in my opinion) is absolutely mandatory when soloing is sanctuary. IF you're not sanced, you're going to take more damage than you can handle. With the changes to regen, it's really not that hard to keep sanc up if you're aware of yourself and your stats. I guess basically what I'm saying is that you can do most things in the game if you take the time to plan your approach, and stay aware of what's happening. The surest rout to death is to lose control of your character. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. You don't get the xp for completing the mission, but you do get xp for killing things. Also, if you get better at a skill, you get xp. (I put one practice into picking locks, and just let my character sit there for 10 minutes trying to pick a lock until it opens. I usually gain 2 xp awards (one for getting better at the skill and another for actually opening the lock). If you have brew potion mage skill, brew potions. You get a lot of xp for doing that. also, apparently you can gather people into groups and do adventures together. Apparently, everyone in the group gets more xp for doing "xp runs" in a group. Re: [Audyssey] Alter Aeon Game Tips
I'd need a little more information to give you character-specific hints, but in general you want to stay in areas apropriate to your level. If you're getting creamed in one area, it's probably best to avoid that for a few levels. I'm not sure what your primary class is, but if you're a thief/warrior, don't underestimate the power of the low level buf spells, such as armor/bless/faith shield. - Original Message - From: lindsay_cow...@btinternet.com To: Audyssey Hi all. Re: [Audyssey] Alter Aeon Game Tips
Hi lindsy.
