[Audyssey] So you wanted a racing game for the iPhone? It's been here all along!

2013-04-02 Thread Ken The PionEar
Do you know that right now, there is one good game and one excellent game you
guys don't know about? I was going to see who turned this up. He or she could
have got some credit with this find, but I can't wait any longer. It's not that
I want the credit, but because everybody has *got* to get this one game.
It's called Formula 1 spirit, by Karotky Media Solutions. Just type audiogames
with no spaces in the app store, and it's number two on the list. It's two
bucks.
Yep, for two dollars you can race with the big boys on all the formula 1
tracks. Be the driver with the best time...
I wasn't going to tell you about this game. i was going to drop little hints,
like on my first post... because there was a contest. The winner of the game
got a free iPad.
I put this in past tense because this game is two years old! That's right
people, while the blind community has been drooling and yearning over the
posibility of an audio racing game, one has existed the whole time! Now do you
see why I behave as i do? I talk about being the game hunter not to brag, but
to... make more game hunters! It can be done! I don't submit apps because I
want you all to learn to look for them yourselves. We have gotten too dependent
on the Applevis app submissions. I'm glad we have them, but meantime we could
have had this racing game if there were only a few more game hunters like me
around. (Yes, I know I'm not the only one, but we are very few in number.)
Anyway, this game is well-worth the price, even if there are no other cars and
you can't crash. Here's what you get.
A game with force feedback--it vibrates when you're off the road. One point.
True driving mechanics. Your car doesn't simply slide sideways like in every
racing game for the blind I've ever seen, you have to compensate for turns you
make, just like in real driving. For example, if you turn too far to the right
and then turn the wheel straight, you're still aimed too far to the right. you
have to straighten out by turning left--but not too far, then straight ahead.
1 point.
All the formula 1 tracks represented--I think. I've only played through 3 so
far.
1 point.
Okay, now that your blood's pumping, I have to tell you that the beginning is
inaccessible. Now don't worry, I'll tell you what to do. First, tap the screen
about a third of the way down from the top with VO off. Then turn it on, and
you should see the name of a race track. It's the top button, so learning
exactly where it is shouldn't prove too hard now that you know what you're
after. Okay, now that you've found this screen, you can either play that track
or scrool either left or right with the scroll buttons. These are labeled in a
weird language, but they say scroll, then the weird direction names. These
buttons change the tracks.
Next to that is an unlabeled button. Tap it to get to the lap setting screen.
There are two new buttons labeled LC left, which decreases the number of laps,
and LCRight which increases the number. You can set it quite high, at lease 16.
Once all that's done, turn off VO and tap near the bottom of the screen. You'll
know you got it right because the engine noise will start. Then, go to
landscape mode and tap the center of the screen. You should hear five beeps,
then you're off. The gas pedal is on the right side of the screen. Your phone
has just become your steering wheel!
Okay, now you're cookin' with gas. The object is to keep the road, represented
by the wind noise, in the center. This is different than other racing games
you've played because the focus was the car, blind man's thinking. Here, it's
on the road, where your eyes should always be while driving--sighted man's
thinking. Just always steer toward the wind and you'll be fine.
There are also sounds to let you know when you've gone off the road and are
getting back on. It's the road shoulder sound--and it works just like in a real
car. So you hear the sound, steer away from it. Then you hear the sound again
because you got *back* on the road, so you begin to straighten out. This way,
if you're in a sharp turn, you not only get warned when you're going off the
road, but you get warned when you're getting back on so you can begin
straightening out.
This is by far the best racing game I have ever played as far as driving
mechanics. No, you can't crash, and no, there aren't other cars zooming past. I
wish there were, but even now as it is the game's very hard to play because of
the driving skills required. Wow! This app gets a ten from me, despite the
drawbacks.
Meet you at the races!
By the way, that's the excellent game. The good game is called Blind Monk. It's
free, and is kind of like the rubber ducky game. If yall can't find it I'll
post ab out it later. Getting tired...

As I said, puppet nightmares is a complex game to get into, however the
complexity is one thing that keeps you playing, since there are always new

even each enemy is unique. Go and talk to the npc called gregor in the
moonlit graveyard and he'll take you through some of the basics of the
game. Also note the help menue since you might want to reread several
topics there to get the basics of the game.

Hi Ibrahim,

The problem is a Jaws one rather than the games. The games themselves
work fine on Windows 7 64-bit, but the Jaws Java access is broken on
64-bit Windows. So if you want to play them you can either use SAPI 5,
or you can try NVDA 2012.3.

I can't really say anything about the skills in battle yet, since I didn't

then I'll probably see what you mean. I don't think it's too bad if you have
to look something up when you first get a skill, I think after some time you
remember its affect anyway. But maybe more description of the skill in

[Audyssey] x-wheel questions

2013-04-02 Thread Charles Rivard
As I don't find a user's manual, I'll ask my questions here:

How is the music turned up, down, on, and off?

In the settings, there is an option for jaws. I was thinking that SAPI is
used. As a JAWS user, should this be what I select or modify? Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] So you wanted a racing game for the iPhone? It'sbeen here all along!

2013-04-02 Thread Charles Rivard
This sounds like a good game, but I prefer oval tracks, and am not a fan of
the Formula I series. I don't follow the drivers, and when listening to the
races, I lose track of where the cars are on the track because there are too
many turns to keep track of. For the fun experience, though, I just might
give this game a try in the future.

Ken, thanks a bunch for posting on this one! Am off to get this right now!

As for your comments though, ;) I'm probably one of the most adamant App
Store searchers I know. If you knew how many insomniac episodes I've spent
searching the App Store for just whatever and donating a small fortune to
Apple you might be surprised!… :) So just because no one's found this one
yet doesn't mean no one's been searching! lol!

You are the lucky one who got to share it! So Kudos!

Anyway, have a great day and thanks for sharing…

Ah, P.S. I've been considering writing a racing game with a similar
paradigm. I've seen before so really want to give people the sense of speed
and 3D perspective… So Perhaps… We'll see…

Do you know that right now, there is one good game and one excellent game
you guys don't know about? I was going to see who turned this up. He or she

not that I want the credit, but because everybody has *got* to get this one
game.
It's called Formula 1 spirit, by Karotky Media Solutions. Just type
audiogames with no spaces in the app store, and it's number two on the list.
It's two bucks.
Yep, for two dollars you can race with the big boys on all the formula 1
tracks. Be the driver with the best time...
I wasn't going to tell you about this game. i was going to drop little
hints, like on my first post... because there was a contest. The winner of
the game got a free iPad.
I put this in past tense because this game is two years old! That's right
people, while the blind community has been drooling and yearning over the
posibility of an audio racing game, one has existed the whole time! Now do
you see why I behave as i do? I talk about being the game hunter not to
brag, but to... make more game hunters! It can be done! I don't submit apps
because I want you all to learn to look for them yourselves. We have gotten
too dependent on the Applevis app submissions. I'm glad we have them, but
meantime we could have had this racing game if there were only a few more
game hunters like me around. (Yes, I know I'm not the only one, but we are
very few in number.)
Anyway, this game is well-worth the price, even if there are no other cars
and you can't crash. Here's what you get.

A game with force feedback--it vibrates when you're off the road. One point.
True driving mechanics. Your car doesn't simply slide sideways like in every
racing game for the blind I've ever seen, you have to compensate for turns
you make, just like in real driving. For example, if you turn too far to the
right and then turn the wheel straight, you're still aimed too far to the
right. you have to straighten out by turning left--but not too far, then
straight ahead.

1 point.
All the formula 1 tracks represented--I think. I've only played through 3 so
far.

1 point.
Okay, now that your blood's pumping, I have to tell you that the beginning
is inaccessible. Now don't worry, I'll tell you what to do. First, tap the
screen about a third of the way down from the top with VO off. Then turn it
on, and you should see the name of a race track. It's the top button, so
learning exactly where it is shouldn't prove too hard now that you know what
you're after. Okay, now that you've found this screen, you can either play
that track or scrool either left or right with the scroll buttons. These are
labeled in a weird language, but they say scroll, then the weird direction
names. These buttons change the tracks.
Next to that is an unlabeled button. Tap it to get to the lap setting
screen. There are two new buttons labeled LC left, which decreases the
number of laps, and LCRight which increases the number. You can set it quite
high, at lease 16.
Once all that's done, turn off VO and tap near the bottom of the screen.
You'll know you got it right because the engine noise will start. Then, go
to landscape mode and tap the center of the screen. You should hear five
beeps, then you're off. The gas pedal is on the right side of the screen.

Hi Charles,
I'm surprised there is no manual with your copy of X-Wheel. Did you download

To answer your questions.
1. The music is turned up and down with the page up and page down keys, it
can't be turned on or off.
2. Yes, by all means, if you have Jaws loaded you can use it to play the
game. The game supports all major screenreaders.

Hope this helps.

this crashes the app. This has happened twice so far. Have you ever seen
this behavior?

Am off to re-download this one but just thought I'd share this.

Thanks,

Cara :)

Okay, now that your blood's pumping, I have to tell you that the beginning
is inaccessible. Now don't worry, I'll tell you what to do. First, tap the
screen about a third of the way down from the top with VO off. Then turn
it on, and you should see the name of a race track. It's the top button,
so learning exactly where it is shouldn't prove too hard now that you know
what you're after. Okay, now that you've found this screen, you can either
play that track or scrool either left or right with the scroll buttons.
These are labeled in a weird language, but they say scroll, then the weird
direction names. These buttons change the tracks.
Next to that is an unlabeled button. Tap it to get to the lap setting
screen. There are two new buttons labeled LC left, which decreases the
number of laps, and LCRight which increases the number. You can set it
quite high, at lease 16.
Once all that's done, turn off VO and tap near the bottom of the screen.
You'll know you got it right because the engine noise will start.

Hi Thomas, Thanks a lot, i was quite certain i would not be able to get

I am not all that satisfied with the standard win7 sapi voice

ALSO output to the screen so that it might work with nvda/braille or jfw

Hi everyone, I just re-downloaded Entombed along with the Sappi voices from

I posted it to Jason, but wondered if Jim oranyone would know if there's a way

[Audyssey] question between mush z and VIP mud from GMA games

2013-04-02 Thread Keith
Okay, I first started mudding using mush z. I am aware that mush z was
pretty much made for the use of alteraon, but I have been able to play
cyberassault on it also. But, some of the plugins for mush z do not work
for cyberassault, like the capture mud output plugin. There are some
others, but the output window is the one I am most concerned with. I like
being able to control tab to an output window and save if I wish, what I am
reading for later review. In cyberassault, there is a newbie manual you get
in the game, wich I would like to fall back on when not playing. Anyway, I
cannot save the output to a text file due to the plugin not working with
cyberaassault.

So, I downloaded VIP mud. I was told by Dark how to enter new mud log on
info, but it throw s an error when I try to log in a character, whether in
cyber in cyber assault or in alter aeon. And to boot, I have no clue as to
how to copy output text to a text file for saving.

With Mush z I have the monster llore info on several of the boss type
characters in case I restart my character or somone else needs the info.

So, what do do? VIP mud states that it was pretty much created to hel
pblind players, but I find the tree tables someonewhat difficult to navigate
and the items you can manipulate are not clearly named.I know VIP mud is
another entity altogether compared to mush z, but I think the mush z
interface is much easier and clearer than the VIP mud.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Keith

Do you know that right now, there is one good game and one excellent game you
guys don't know about? I was going to see who turned this up. He or she could
have got some credit with this find, but I can't wait any longer. It's not
that I want the credit, but because everybody has *got* to get this one game.
I wasn't going to tell you about this game. i was going to drop little hints,
like on my first post... because there was a contest. The winner of the game
 got a free iPad.
I put this in past tense because this game is two years old! That's right
people, while the blind community has been drooling and yearning over the
posibility of an audio racing game, one has existed the whole time! Now do
you see why I behave as i do? I talk about being the game hunter not to brag,
but to... make more game hunters! It can be done! I don't submit apps because
I want you all to learn to look for them yourselves. We have gotten too
dependent on the Applevis app submissions.
I've only played through 3 so
 far.
 1 point.
Okay, now that your blood's pumping, I have to tell you that the beginning is
inaccessible. Now don't worry, I'll tell you what to do. First, tap the
screen about a third of the way down from the top with VO off. Then turn it

Next to that is an unlabeled button. Tap it to get to the lap setting screen.
There are two new buttons labeled LC left, which decreases the number of
laps, and LCRight which increases the number. You can set it quite high, at
 lease 16.
Once all that's done, turn off VO and tap near the bottom of the screen.
You'll know you got it right because the engine noise will start. Then, go to
landscape mode and tap the center of the screen. You should hear five beeps,
then you're off. The gas pedal is on the right side of the screen. Your phone
has just become your steering wheel!
Okay, now you're cookin' with gas. The object is to keep the road,

even each enemy is unique. Go and talk to the npc called gregor in the
