[Audyssey] Great Wrestling Match in WLS
Hi all, Far out! I was just playing a game of Wrestling League Simulator , and I have to say this text game was better than real wrestling. The Divas Championship match I had was pretty awesome. Tonight's match up was Kelly Kelly vs. Eve torres. I played Kelly Kelly and the computer controlled Eve Torres. The match was a no disqualification match for the WWE Divas Championship, and I have to say the computer put up one heck of a fight. In the beginning of the match it was pretty evenly matched. Neither performer could get an advantage as such. It was mainly Eve and Kelly Kelly exchanging kicks, punches, and occasionally slamming the other to the mat, but about 10 minutes into the match things got a lot rougher. Eve drove Kelly's face into the turn buckle, busting her head open, and I got a little angry and the gloves came off and started to play dirty. You know thumbs to the eye, pulling hair, and using choke holds etc. Basically, it went from a wrestling match into a good old bitch fight. LOL. Needless to say after about five minutes more of this we took it outside the ring where it got vicious. We took turns slamming each other onto the concrete floor, smacking each other's heads into the ring posts, smacking someone's face into the ring apron, and finally grabbing a steel chair and bashing it over each others heads. Since this was a no disqualifications match we could get away with beating the ever loving tar out of each other without being disqualified which makes no-holds-barred matches so fun. Eventually, we both climbed back into the ring for something more like real wrestling with standard wrestling moves such as slams, knee lifts, elbow drops, punches, a few slaps, and the occasional attempt at a pin. However, the end came when Eve Torres went up on top of the ropes for a springboard moonsault, the infamous Evesault, and Kelly Kelly moved out of the way for Eve to pancake onto the mat. Ouch! Let's just say she got up, still stunned, Kelly Kelly delivered the Kelly Kick and covered Eve for the 1, 2, 3. As of now in Wrestling League Simulator Kelly Kelly is the new Divas Champion. It was an unbelievably hard fought match from beginning to end. Cheers! --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Hi John Have you ever played a game called Civilization? It wasn't a RTS it was a TBS game. I was thinking of starting off like that. But making it a RTS game. Civilization 3 or 4 I can't remember it's been a long time, but anyway in the game you could go online and download mods and go online with friends that had the game and play with them. This game is perhaps one of the best strategy games of that time frame, and if I could see, I would still be playing it, lol. That free civ sounds interesting. Hi Mohsin, When it comes to which language to use it is largely personal choice, what you feel most comfortable with, and which language is best for the task at hand. For many reasons I do not recommend VB 6 because it is really really old and is not officially supported on Windows 7 and Windows 8. Re: [Audyssey] A question related to RTS games
Hi Mohsin, The way BGT is designed you can pretty much write any type of game you want. That said, there are a few limitations that goes with using BGT. The first is BGT is currently a Windows only tool so Mac OS and Linux support is for the moment out of the question. The other is that it doesn't have good 3d audio support. If you want rich 5.1 and 3d surround sound support you won't get it with BGT. However, BGT can pretty much do anything else you can think of. So if you want to use that for an RTS game go for it. Cheers! Re: [Audyssey] A question related to RTS games
Hi Mohsin, Well, a lot would depend on your own personal skills. For example, you said you know a little programming, but did not specify what language or languages you have experience with, nor specified what platforms you wish to target, etc. I don't know of any tutorials specifically designed for real time strategy based games, but if you know a programming language well enough the basic design of one should come naturally to you. Plus on Linux, for example, there are hundreds of free open source games that could allow you to look at the code and see how they are built. In my early programming days I'd often download the source for a game similar in design with what I was writing and I'd look through its source code to see conceptually how it was put together by the developer. So once you know what languages and tools you will be working with if I were you I'd explore the open source archives for code examples that will help you with conceptual and design issues. Cheers!
