Re: [Audyssey] Support Dark's gamebook

2011-09-17 Thread dark

wow Jeremy, I didn't expect such a vote of confidence ;D.

While this is appreciated, I will point out that if the competition is
similar to previous years, there are likely to be some pretty awsome books
csubmitted.

Dungeons was intended as a bit of fun, and certainly if people enjoy the
book they should vote for it, but I'd ask people to please check out the
other submitted entries and have a serious think about things, sinse I'd
prefer to have my work thought about and taken on it's own merrits (if any),
than win simply because I have the advantage of belonging to a mailing list
full of people who will vote for the entry by "a blind person" irrispective
of how good or bad my writing is.

Afterall, in the arena of writing gamebooks, jeremy's darkgrue program has
removed so much effort, a visually impared participant is absolutely equal
to anyone else, and thus should be judged as such.

So yes, please vote for dungeons, but only if you happen to think it's
worth voting for.

Beware the grue!

Dark.

Hey guys. I wanted to take a minute to let everyone know that our pal
Dark has submitted his game book (The Horrible Dungeons of Dreadful Doom)
into the 2011 Windhammer Prize for Short Gamebook Fiction. While I'm not
asking people to simply vote for his story to help him win, I AM! asking
people to at least check out the competition and vote if you feel like
doing so. I think this is a pretty easy way for us to jump in and support
one of our own, so why not?

Here is the link that takes you to the competition page.

If you do decide to vote, you simply email v...@arborell.com with the 2
game books you liked most. You must send 2, and Only 2, or they won't
count your vote. Thanks guys!
