[Audyssey] Vip gameszone?
Does anyone know what happened to Vip gameszone? Their obviously stil around sinse their stil selling games, and indeed last year they upgraded all of their games to run under vista, but it seems ages sinse we've heard any release information from them, -- or seenany game content updates. This imho is a shame, sinse Lords of the galaxy has some of the best sounds I've heard in an audiogamee, and if some of the game balancing issues like the exchange cash option and using space trucks to transport anywhere were removed, or at least tweaked, it has the potential to be a really interesting multiplayer game. Ditto with Galaxy ranger, though in the case of that game, I'd just like to see some improvements, such as actual features on the map, and maybe some different units or the ability to build extra bases. While I know we've got Sound Rts for serious stratogy, I stil do like the stratogy/action mix of galaxy ranger, and would love to see some upgrades to the game. Beware the Grue! Igor Knew about this problem. one of the beta testers helped to edit his game documentations, but I think he himself doesn't understand the game especially galaxy ranger, so couldn't make much changes. He kept asking for the games to be made easier. There are other good testers who could understand the instructions and played the games well, but most of us English is not our first language so couldn't help much in that area. I think the game instructions need to be rewritten and not just edit a few lines. I completely agree about the demo restrictions. Told Igor about it. [Audyssey] vip gameszone v3
Hi. Just checking on the Vip gameszone site, they seem to have version 3.0 of all of their games. firstly, I was wondering (given the awards discussion), when this happened, and secondly, as I personally own X hour, galaxy ranger and Lords of the galaxy, does anyone know if there are any gameplay changes in the various version 3's of the games? or is it just vista compatibility that's been added. Hi claudio. I would indeed like to do a review of galaxy ranger, but playing the game over speakers really is a pest. If I could just get my voice to come out of the computer along with the sound of the game, i can plug my r09 into the line in for my headphones and do it that way. I've got a Usb mike, but it seems to be totally useless. In fact, I'm getting slightly frustrated, sinse simply having my computer do what any bog standard tape recorder, pluss my r09 and multitrack recorder can do strikes me as a laughably easy matter, yet despite help from people on this list, I stil haven't come up with a quick and simple way of doing it, which is another reason I haven't done a casting of the pod for such a long while. I think they are in English Claudio, but the problem is that if English isn't a person's first language they don't always tend to word things right. That makes it hard for those of us who do speak English as our native language to understand what was being said. Without meaning to be racist I'll say that Russians in particular seem to be most noticeable in this. I think that has to do with the fact that in Russian things are said almost backwards compared to English. I'm no expert on that but I have had a few Russian friends in the past who've told me that. But I agree that if you're an audio games developer and English isn't your first language you really should get someone who does speak English as their native language to do your instruction manuals. I completely agree. We struggle with similar issues with our note taker products. They are excellent, but the manuals and instructions which are originally in Korean are hard to understand once translated into English. Indeed Che, though their later games such as lords of the galaxy seem to improve on this, it's just a shame that they don't alter the documentation for their earlier games. I think the worst I remember was when I tried super football, the manual there seemed totally strange, - despite the fact that when I'd worked things out the game was actually quite simple, - which is why I personally didn't buy it, but then again sport isn't really my thing anyway. beware the Grue! Hmmm, I thought it was only X hour which had the ten minute limitation (I certainly had long games of lords of the galaxy, galaxy ranger and the sport games when I tried them).
