Re: [Audyssey] question for those players of smugglers 4
Hi dark, thanks for the reply. I had forgotten you needed to close the intro message before you could pull up game options. My god, this guy is a sloppy programmer, he clearly doesn't use captions in his code to set a proper window title. If anyone is interested, I am using a very powerful set of jaws scripts called hotspot clicker to make playing smugglers easier, buy setting up hotspots for the combat system, and also to make activating blind players mode and getting into the options menu easier. it means, no more hunting around with the jaws cursor to find things, now when I start the game, I can just hit alt and c to close the intro message, alt and o for the game options menu, and then alt and b to activate the blind players mode. and no need to go hunting with the jaws cursor at all, it saves a lot of time and frustration. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] question for those players of smugglers 4
Hi Alex. The program doesn't use standard windows at all, everything is via popups and in game textual spots to click. Remember, that the smugglers games are! primerily graphical in nature, they just happen to have very good lables, though i will say hal's default map with the virtual focus works extremely well in it's presentation of the games screens in columns. [Audyssey] question for those players of smugglers 4
Hi list. I have a question for those of you who have played smugglers 4 by neils bower games. I bought the game ages ago, and gave up with it as the screen just looked a total mess with jaws, but things seem to be a bit better now, I don't know if that's down to different display settings or what. but anyway, could some kind soul please tell me how do I access the options menu, in order to turn off the stupid game music which drowns out jaws almost completely, and I want to enable the blind players mode. unfortunately I can't seem to find an options menu even after starting the new game. any help would be very much appreciated. I know its possible as I think I did it years ago, but now I can't figure it out. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] question for those players of smugglers 4
Hi Alex. The options menue is actualy on the very first page when you start the game, just hit the lable that says game options. Actually, you'll need to do this whenever you start the game because blind compatibility mode needs to be activated each time you begin as otherwise a lot of stuff in the game won't have readable lables. Hope you can get it to work. Btw, Smugglers 4 should be working with jaws now, previous versions didn't particularly well, but certainly for the last couple of years things should be fine, though perhaps someone who uses jaws would be a better person to ask for advice on the nuts and bolts of playing the game with it..
