Re: [Audyssey] Entombed 2 Windows and Mac Test Clients

2015-04-30 Thread Jason Allen
Hello,

Yes, that's right. Entombed 2 is completely separate from Entombed 1.
Separate tech and completely re-written from the ground up. As for pricing,
I'm not sure yet. I think it will be similar to Entombed 1's pricing.

It's called the Skeleton Tower and you indeed do go up, but not in the
alpha demo. The story and other additions I'll let you know later. I don't
want to over-promise and under-deliver.

It will be similar scope to Entombed. Possibly larger. Nearly all the game
code is written in Lua and can easily be modified to make new additions and
changes. The core of the game is written in C# and using Unity for
cross-platform compiling.

Sorry to hear it's not working on your Mac. I'm developing it on an iMac
with Yosemite. I'd expect it to work on nearly any Mac, but it's still
early. I might be able to improve the compatibility.

Cheers!
Jason

 Hello everyone,

I thought I'd post here for feedback on the Windows and Mac test versions
for Entombed 2. These test versions have no gameplay, but if they run on
your computer, then the full game should also.

There isn't much to do other than walk around an empty dungeon. If you're
keen on trying it out, please let me know how it runs.

 Windows version: http://endpermian.com/e2/Entombed2Setup.msi

 Mac version: http://endpermian.com/e2/Entombed2MacOS.zip

 The Windows version works with

  - JAWS
  - Window-Eyes
  - NVDA
  - SuperNova
  - System Access
  - ZoomText

 and SAPI.

The Mac version will use whatever your default system voice is.

To move around and select menu options use the arrow keys or W,S,A,D. You
can increase and decrease the voice rate by using the + and - keys. This
works for Mac and SAPI on windows.

 Thanks!
 Jason

progression so right now the beta version goes downwards, not upwards as
you'd expect from a tower, (indeed Jason on the audiogames.net forum
described it as a rabbit hole, so at the moment it's sort of more like
skeleton rabbit hole, or rather the skeleton of the skeleton rabbit hole
(hay, I wonder if there will be any skeletal rabbits in the game? that would
be awsomely creey! :D.

All the best,

Do we know is it actually going to be called entombed the skeleton tower,
 or
was it just named skeleton tower as a play on words or pun since the
 tower
we are currently downloading/testing is currently emptytherefore a

 @Tom.

Entombed two isn't even a paid upgrade it's as you said a separate game
entirely, indeed it's being programmed right from scratch and is as I
understand using different language and development tools from entombed,
such as unity and lua scripting. As far as I understand the situation
 while
jason might borrow some of the more interesting concepts from Entombed 1,
he's also planning on altering lots, so it is as you said an utterly
separate game, ie, this is entombed ii the skeleton tower, not entombed
 version 2.0.

How the pricing might work goodness knows, especially sinse the plan is
 for
entombed 2 to be modable, but like much else with Entombed 2 we'll have to
 wait and see.

Jason has however said on the entombed list that the beta versions at
 least
 will be free.

Hi Ishan,

Yes, you should be able to play Entombed 1 and Entombed 2 side by
side. Entombed 2 gets installed to different location than Entombed
1, and do not conflict in any way.

As far as I understand when Entombed 2 is released it will be a paid
upgrade since it is a completely new rewrite of the game with
different level maps, some new content, and in many ways an altogether
different product from Entombed 1.

As for your question about jobs like barbarians and brawlers that
doesn't apply just yet. This is only an early alpha, and not
everything is implemented like jobs and so on. We'll have to se when
Jason gets that far with the development.

Cheers!

Hi Lucky.

No, there arent' many keys in the game, just escape for the menu, enter, the
arrows, and the period key to go down stairs. The down stairs key does work,
it generates a new dungeon, but there is no message to tell you it's doing
it, and indeed not a lot to find in the dungeon besides arch ceilinged rooms
anyway, though if you go and look at the arch cieling rooms you'll notice
they're in a different place when going down stairs.

This was just a tech demo purely to check if JAson's basics with the engine
and making the dungeon were running okay, whether all the sounds played and
the text spoke etc. Fortunately it all seems to be in working order so Jason
can now start on the game propper.

Beware the Grue!

Dark.

There is always more to know, more to see, more to learn. The world is vast
and wondrous strange and there are more things benieth the stars than even
the archmaesters of the citadel can dream.

Seems it's working. I don't know what's already done but if it does mean
anything, I tried this with jaws and tried to use some shortcuts like
upstair or downstair and all other keyboard commands bbut jaws doesn't
speak anything.

Maybe there're not in the game yet but just reporting.

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd post here for feedback on the Windows and Mac test versions
for Entombed 2. These test versions have no gameplay, but if they run on
your computer, then the full game should also.

There isn't much to do other than walk around an empty dungeon. If you're
keen on trying it out, please let me know how it runs.

Windows version: http://endpermian.com/e2/Entombed2Setup.msi

Mac version: http://endpermian.com/e2/Entombed2MacOS.zip

The Windows version works with

  - JAWS
  - Window-Eyes
  - NVDA
  - SuperNova
  - System Access
  - ZoomText

and SAPI.

The Mac version will use whatever your default system voice is.

To move around and select menu options use the arrow keys or W,S,A,D. You
can increase and decrease the voice rate by using the + and - keys. This
works for Mac and SAPI on windows.

Thanks!
Jason
