Well, one thing that may help is by making sure you have Microsoft
Setup Installer 3.1. It comes with Vista and Windows 7 by default, but
is an upgrade for XP users. If you have XP SP3 or later you should be
good, but if not you might want to find out about upgrading to that

Not really. I've never had any issues installing the .Net Framework
installation. The one on my website should be good as no one else has
reported a problem with the setup file. However, if you could give us
some details as to what the error is maybe someone could help you.
Just saying you
try the one from windowsupdate it may update as an optional pack
looiks like you have a mangled setup.
