Press the applications key and arrow down to install you will hear the dialog, file sapi.dl is needed come up. 4. Tab to the browse button and select the cd drive you have the disc in and select the folder x86 and tab to open and then tab to ok and that will coppy the files and fix everything. - Original Message - From: "Thomas Ward" To: ; "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Monday, August 22, 2011 7:25 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Question about Deluserlex on Jim's site? Hi Alfredo, Sounds like your Sapi control panel entries are messed up. On Windows XP there is a program you can run to repair the control panel entries, but I've for gotten it since I am running Windows 7, and the repair tool no longer ships with Sapi 5.4. I'm pretty sure Jim Kitchen knows since he uses Sapi in most of his games. On 8/22/11, Alfredo_The_Music_maker wrote: Hello, Yes, I believe that is what is happening. I can hardly play any self-voicing games without the SAPI-5 active on it. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] Question about Deluserlex on Jim's site?
Hi Alfredo, Below are all of the sapi5 fixes that I know of. Of course you have already tried the first fix the deluserlex file. The first thing that I would try would be the DelUserLex.exe file that you can find on my free windows sapi5 text to speech games page, as well as on the GW Micro and Freedom Scientific sites. It is a strange file in that it doesn't say or seem to do anything, but it did fix my sapi5 voices. Here is another fix that I was told about. Go to c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Speech Then, press enter on Sapisvr.exe. It won't say anything, but it should correct the control panel entries for Sapi. Another thing that you can do is to use the Windows XP restore feature to restore your computer back to a date when the voices were working. And then there is to use your Windows XP cd to repair the entire sapi5 text to speech engine. you can download (SpeechSDK51MSM.exe). which contains all of the Microsoft Sapi voices available for Windows XP from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5e86ec97-40a7-453f-b0ee-6583171b4530&displaylang=en HTH BFN Jim Check my web site for my free blind accessible pc dos and windows games. j...@kitchensinc.net http://www.kitchensinc.net (440) 286-6920 Chardon Ohio USA --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] Question about Deluserlex on Jim's site?
Hi Alfredo, Depends on what is wrong with the voices. The delusrlex.exe program basically just deletes your voice configurations allowing Sapi to create new ones the next time Sapi starts. In many cases a misconfiguration is all that is wrong with the voices and deleting and resetting the default configurations gets things back to normal. Other times though the problem is more serious. It would help to have a detailed description of your problem and perhaps we can help you sort it out. Worst case you will have to uninstall Sapi and install Sapi 5.x from scratch. Re: [Audyssey] Question about Deluserlex on Jim's site?
Hi, That is all the program does. It just runs silently in the background. There are no dialogs, message boxes, or anything of that kind. Cheers! Hi, That is quite normal. The program runs, and then exits without any notification.
